This show seems kind of pointless in the internet age. All the information you could want about fugitives is available online 24/7.

Actually, we do not grow corn for ethanol, per se. We grow excess corn so that we will not experience food shortages if we have a bad year or several (see: Irish potato famine). Think of it this way: If we grow twice as much food as we need, we can lose half of it and still come out OK. The ethanol system was devised to absorb some of this excess corn production in years that we do not need it for food (most yeas). The excess production of corn also contributed to the explosive growth of the corn syrup industry in the last few decades, but that is a whole other topic.

Bottom line: America grows corn better than anyone else in the world, so we grow as much as we can and find uses for it afterward.

You're delusional if you think a photograph would constitute "proof" of Osama's death or put an end to the skepticism. This argument over photographs is pointless and frankly, I'm disturbed that so many people are begging to see a photo of a bin Laden's blown out head when it would accomplish nothing other than to satisfy your morbid curiosity.

What would you do with a body? How many of us have seen OBL up close? How many of us have a verified sample of his DNA? I know I would not be able to prove or disprove his identity even if I had full access to a corpse. Could you?

The bottom line is, I cannot prove (or disprove) that we killed Osama and neither can you, and no photograph or physical evidence would meaningfully change that. All we really have to go on is the integrity of the Navy SEALs and the belief that they would not perpetrate a massive hoax on the American people. That is more than enough for me.

"You’d think the trillions of dollars spent over 10 years would have provided us with some JPGs for our trouble."

Pictures would not prove a thing. It's easy enough to find a guy who looks like Osama and shoot him. Skeptics will always be skeptics, no amount proof will ever be enough.

I don't know about that. With 18 months left until the next election and the primaries not even going yet, this is the least politically valuable time for an event like this to occur.

Agreed. I don't know why people keep harping on this Superman crap. Comic books (and their fictional heroes) mean absolutely nothing to me.

Probably because there is nothing entertaining about the tragic deaths of thousands of Americans in a terrorist attack. And because most of our early operations in Afghanistan were kept fairly secretive, there wasn't much to write about there either.

The killing of OBL makes a good subject for a movie because it happened in a relatively short period of time (a few hours or a few months, depending on how much you want to include), in an easily understandable sequence of events, and the good guys won.

Why is this news? Why does anybody care? I don't think any president has written their own jokes, and I wouldn't want them to. They should spend their time doing more important things like, you know, killing Osama bin Laden.
