I couldn't agree more with the dumbass liberal above - the current price of oil has NOTHING to do with supply... But it DOES have to do with demand. I don't expect lib-boy to understand this because it isn't based on B.S. Keynesian (Kenyansian[sic]?) economics. If America drills it's own oil - overall demand doesn't necessarily change, but it sure as hell DOES go from foreign to domestic! OPEC can fill their over-large swimming pool resorts and drown in the stuff for all I care at that point. I bet we could even get a few of your democrat buddies in congress to try and come up with a higher percentage tax they can rape us for on domestic fuel (since everyone seems to forget good old uncle sam gets a chunk out of every gallon we buy).

And as far as the gold standard not doing anything for us... we went from living in barely framed structures in the colonies to being the biggest baddest "imperialist nation" this planet has ever seen on the gold standard in 200 years. Since we've left the gold standard we have exported jobs and imported illegal aliens and dumbass liberals at an astonishing rate though!

That's part of the insidious genius that is the Left. If you start training them from childhood that everything is sunshine and lollipops (teachers unions and the left wing control over education), reinforce it through early adulthood (more school subjugation and constant bombardment through various entertainment sources)... by the time they are of voting age most of them are nothing but an automatic vote for politically "correct" social agendas and can be convinced that anything is right by repeating the mantras of "It's good for the collective" or "it will help save the..." (insert planet, whales, tibet, environment, etc here).

Anything that falls outside those realms are either mindlessly reported as some sort of abuse or violation, or worse they are constantly attacked as some sort of outside threat. Leftism is a convenient way to be able to preach control without some people even noticing it. How else can you explain the lefts' total inability to see the hypocrisy in preaching unity - but singling certain groups out and outlining differences, or preaching "inclusion" of other religions - by the exclusion of others etc.

It's almost as if the left really DOES have a mental disability that causes them to see things as defined as exactly the opposite of what they really are. Spending MORE money when you're broke to solve a budget problem... "Peaceful" left "rallies" versus "violent" "teabagger" "protests"... freedom of speech that needs MORE regulation... they don't understand the definition if ILLEGAL immigrants... hell some of them even don't get the fact that the Constitution is a document that tells you what government CAN'T do - they argue that the document "doesn't say anything about xyz" so it must be a right - COMPLETELY OVERLOOKING the fact that the document very clearly points out that anything NOT listed falls to the specific authority of the states to decide.

For being the "enlightened, all inclusive" party... they have to rely on see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" as party doctrine.

One senator gets promised 300 million to vote for this bill - another one is threatened with the shut down of a major military installation in his home state. Kinda funny for a group of people that consider "everyone to be equal"... you think they won't hesitate to do the same to YOU if you don't like what they are up to?

Anybody ever read or watched "The Sum of all Fears" by Tom Clancy? Here's what will happen: Iran "outsources" enriching the uranium to a third party. The third party ships the uranium to Iran. Some uranium gets administratively "lost". A few years go by. Iranian terrorists use that uranium in a bomb and evaporate a city. The world runs test on the fallout to determine where the bomb was made. Indications are that the bomb was made by the "3rd party" and not Iran. "3rd party" protests its' innocence and raises their military readiness in response to the accusations. Nuked country sees the readiness change and takes it as an admission of guilt. Things spiral out of control from there.

The horrifying thing about this is that they don't NEED an ICBM to attack us. It wouldn't be all that difficult to put a bomb on a truck somewhere and get it across our completely unprotected southern border. Everyone is expecting them to attack Israel... but they are "the lessor satan"... WE are the "Great Satan". Remember... part of terrorism is doing something people aren't expecting.
