I read there is an issue if pass code lock enabled. I get my work email on my iPhone and the profile does not allow me to turn off pass code.

What do I do?

Just perfromed these steps on a 3G running 3.1.2

I used the non activated (att ) joined the files, did the restore - no problems..

Once complete - it looks like my phone is NOT JB - I dont see cydia on the phone.

How do I get cydia??

Thanks

Awsome

I see the WiMi has a 10 day free trial - whats the cost after the trial? Can I remove the app and still have tethering enabled??

Hopefully the captured files will be of use when the JB for OTB 3.1.x is finally done

Is umbrella an app for the iphone (under cydia) or a progran I can run from my PC??

If this is in fact true - that my ECID is now captured - I should then be able to JB using pwnage?

Ok - a real question :)

I set my local hosts file to point to Saurics server - so that he can capture my ECID.

I plan on loading the new 3.1.2 SW onto my 3g3 today updating from 3.1 . My phone was never JB on any version

Since the request for the digital signature will be proxied through Saurics server - can I assume that my ECID is now captured and on-file with Sauric? Is there any way to check this?

iPhoneModem requires JB

I do have another question - and reading the devblog and others just confuses me more...

Apparently, the pwn tool creates a custom software file (IPSW) for the JB.

Some folks out there are talking about simply using one of these files (dl'd from the net) and doing an iTunes restore with this file on a non-JB 3g3/3.1

I was under the impression that the overlord (apple) must digitlaly sign these files before the phones boot loader will install them. I also thought the signature was based on MY phones unique ECID.

If my ECID was not ever saved, will this process work to JB my phone - assuming I got an IPSW from a "reputable" source?

Are you saying I could take a custom restore (granted of unknown origin) 3.1 which was most likely built with pwnag and then restore this on a NON-JB 3.1 and be jailbroken?? It really cant be that simple.......
