you may want to reset the network settings & reboot and check if it helps.

You can upgrade to 4.3.2 and preserve your current BB, in turn remain unlock-able and use GPS as well.

if you have access to Mac, use latest pwange tool and create a custom IPSW (choose preserve BB). Then use this custom IPSW and upgrade your IOS.

Please thoroughly read the tutorials in iclarified before starting.

When you cook the Custom IPSW, you need to choose "Activate the phone", did you do that when you made the custom IPSW ?
Otherwise, cook another custom IPSW from sn0wbreeze, but this time choose "Activate the phone".

Get it out of the Recovery mode and try it again with redsn0w.. Please follow the instructions from iclarified diligently and rest assured you will be fine. There are at-least about 100000 devices Jbroken and unlocked successfully by "just following" the instructions. Ask incase you require clarification.

Links cant be posted here, Google "sn0wbreeze 2.6 ios 4.3.2" , You will get plenty of links with good tutorials. Remember to use the "Preserve Base-band" option when cooking custom IPSW..

If not already done, restart your phone using Normal "slide to power off" and switch it back on.

If you are desperate for an unlock , you have to upgrade your BB to 06:15. Note: Read the warnings and instructions in the blog and tutorials carefully before doing so.

I dont pretend that i know exactly what went wrong with your device. But i can tell you that, I am using 3gs 4.3.2 BB 06.15, Airtel network, custom IPSW and JB with Sn0wbreeze 2.6. No issues what so ever. Upgraded from ios 4.1. FYI, I used Expert Mode when creating the custom IPSW in sn0wbreeze.

I also Jbroke a friends device, usign Redsn0w RC14, Vodafone network, now its on 4.3.2 BB 6:15, Absolutely no issues like the ones you had mentioned.
