I bet whats left of IW will be absorbed into Treyarch to try to capture some of that magic. EA did the same with the rest of the staff of the defunct 2015 Inc when most of the staff up and left to form IW; they got absorbed in EALA.

WTF?! I brought a Saturn. I loved playing Daytona USA, Duke Nukem 3D, Nights, Shining Force III, Sonic R, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, to a lesser extent Sakura Taisen and Burning Rangers. These are classics in every sense of the word and by Sega just saying that they were less known than the Dreamcast titles is a cheap cop out. I would buy them. I'm sure there are other gamers who remember the warm fuzzy feeling turning on their Sega Saturn gave them.

The real reason is that they don't want to do is spend time to convert these games. Period. The Dreamcast was built on a DirectX/Windows CE kernel so its easier to convert.

I admit shovelware doesn't move systems but there's two things that they show.

First, they do provide the system with a wide variety of choices aimed at taking advantage of cluesless buyers who don't know much of anything about what game they're about to buy. Case in point is the whole Baja game controversy which had two different games with similar packaging; the packaging was meant to make one believe that they were the same game.

Secondly the companies which make shoveware are companies which take calculated risks. They wont release anything on a troubled console with a modest install base. Preferably they choose somewhere which their small investment will pay quick dividends. The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, PSone, PS2 and now Wii the consoles in the past 30 some odd years which have seen rapid adoption and floods of crap.

In a way, the amount of shovelware that a console has equates to how well its doing.

Do you see why Microsoft's First party is so f***ed? It's cause they only bring software out they think can perform. They don't take chances.

I'm all for the idea but in all fairness to Bungie it gets tiring working on the same IP for so long. You kinda get burnt out and at times even pigeonholed into figuring out what direction you want to take with it.

... Which is why investors warn to not buy THQ stock. They don't promote their software. How the WWE has stayed with this company is beyond me. I would've signed with 2K when the contract expired and in turn they were ready to bring in AKI to develop new games.

Carnival Games is the most damming indictment of Shadowofravenwolf point. The game was garbage but it sold. As did Mama Cooks but not enough to make the list...

Okay... Wild Idea... Instead of giving us garbagey controllers which no one would use afterward on other games. How about a limited edition N64 controller for the Wii. You know maybe to pay homage to the console while the Goldeneye remake tries to pay homage to the N64 version.
