Just for an example Dayne called another teen of color the N word at one of our football games in front of half the town and as far as I know recieved NO punishment. (NOT EVEN FROM THE SCHOOL) He was still allowed to play for our team and as far as I know didnt even sit one game out. I DO know 1st hand though that any kids who tried to stick up for the minority that night were punished severly by Linda Vauhn the middle school principal. How can that be you ask? Well I asked the same question and got NO answers. It seems to me that this young man has never been given any consiquences for anything he has done. I mean who in this day could scream racial slurs at a school function and not get in trouble for it? Well it sounds like he is about to get some BIG conciquences for his actions finally. Its to bad he wasnt punished earlier in life for a few things. Maby he would have thought before he acted. I do hope the Ns he speaks so kindly of give him a warm welcome in prison!
If you care about your dog you should go to youtube and type in ban BSL . What you find will move you to tears. Hundreds or even thousands of families are being torn apart by these decisions . All 3 of my kids have their own dog . My two younger ones wont even spend the night away because they don't want to be away from their dogs.We have low profile breeds so we are safe. I live in a town where pit bulls are banned. I don't feel this is fair to people who love the breed. Good dog owners will socialize their dog NO matter what the breed. Your dog needs to know how to act in every situation. I dont allow my kids to wrestle with friends around our well behaved dogs because they have an instinct to protect their pack members who are my kids and never have but could see wrestling as a threat. Pits are not my breed of choice due to their high energy levels but people who love them and take care of them should be able to have one. The people who raise these nutso dogs wont listen to a breed ban anyway! If you think BSL is a good thing because you dont want to live near a certain breed you should think again. It only takes one crying radical. Your dog may be next!
I can remember when I lived in CR years ago(I moved to Jones county cause cedar rapids has to many ordnances) One day I walked outside to go to work and just outside the door of my apt were two loose horses. I went inside and got some carrots to keep them interested till the cops came. The CRPD didnt know what to do with the either. They became very pushy wanting more carrots. I could have been hurt in the middle of town but they had excaped by accident and I certainly wasnt having a fit about it. I just wanted them to stay out of traffic for everyones safety. Accidents happen! We call them accidents cause it was no ones fault. Sometimes things just happen.
Thanks for advocating for the breed! I dont have one but will some day. I live in a town where they have been banned. It used to be the dobermans and now the pit bulls. I wonder what breed is next? For the most part it is a sign of poverty. You should go on you tube and type in ban BSL. You will need a strong stomach to watch but I think every one should.
I don't own a pit as I live in a town that banned them but if I ever can I will take this dog threw canine good citizen classes and train it as a therapy dog just to show that any breed of dog when given a chance can be a wonderful companion. I have english bulldogs but would also love a pit who could stand outdoor activities in hot wether with the family.What man does not understand man fears. What man fears man KILLS!
Ban the deed NOT the breed. The artical didnt say the dogs abused the man! It said the man abused the dogs. So why should u make this the dogs fault MrOlav?
Its sad but I still want to eat chichen. I wish we had a better way but cant think of one that would be cost effective. Face it chicken is just tooooo good
My friend wanted to adopt a dog there but they turned her down because years before she had turned in a stray kitten. She explained that she found the kitten and looked for the owners with no luck but they treated her like because she couldnt keep the kitty from years before she wouldnt be a good dog owner. She lived in a no pets apartment at the time of the kitty and owned her own home when she decided not to buy a dog but to rescue one. How many perspective owners have slipped threw the cracks like this.She saved a dog from animal control and he lives like a king.
