Have the police found any connection between the thieves and the murdered man?
These stories get to me more than any other theft cases you hear about. The elderly are some of the most vulnerable people in our society. I personally feel it should be written into law, that whatever sentence is handed down, the convicted should have everything of value auctioned off, and proceeds go directly to the victim.. prior to any jail time/restitution.
I also wish there could be a way to label these thieves, just like sex offenders. You know this woman will serve little time, and be out there doing it to someone else in a few years. Absolutely sick.
I sincerely thank you for your service to this country, Mr McNabb.
I have to ask where Kuwair is. Kuwait possibly?
It wouldn't matter if it was herb, or cocaine, a nice watch, or even a collectible beanie baby... it's about greed. These kids wanted the victims valuables. Plain and simple. Wouldn't matter what it was, as long as it had value.
Great job SPD! Now prosecutors it's up to you, do the right thing and finish the job. Put all involved in jail for the maximum amount allowed by law. No plea deals, no turning anyone into government witness, do the right thing and keep these scumbags off the streets.
I'm sincerely glad nobody died, but shooting 3 people with an assault rifle and no kills reminds me of the running gag on Reno 911 where Deputy Garcia shoots his weapon and can never seen to hit his target.
I'm confused by this story. Is the developer the bad guy because he didn't remedy the situation? Because he didn't look at it or touch it? Because he refused to comment to the reporter? I'm not saying it isn't his fault, nor am I saying it is. There's not enough information in this article to have an opinion. It sounds biased. If they believe the wood came that way, why not go after the manufacture of the lumber? I just don't understand why it's the developers fault, 6 years after it was built, inspected, and recieved it's certificate of occupancy.
I find the 10 year plea deal an absolute slap in the face to this poor girl, her family, friends, and to society. Prosecutors obviously have evidence tying this guy to the murder. Take that evidence to trial, present it, and let the jury convict him. If you don't have enough proof of his guilt, then keep working the case until you do! Don't offer the alleged murderer the deal of a lifetime. It just tells him, and every person watching this case that killing, and severing limbs is not too big of a deal.
Is Russ Hauge the main prosecutor in this case? It wouldn't suprise me. His office is well known for handing out plea deals like candy at Halloween. I'd be in a rage if I were the father of that poor young girl. I only hope they can find some closure when this is all over.
I feel for the restaurant owner. I don't care for fast food, and rarely eat it.. but the guy's still running a business, and he's helping his employees make a living. Whenever I hear about something like this locally, I tend not to patronize it anymore, and I doubt I'm the only one. This dumb kid probably can't even comprehend the problems he might have caused for this place, but I hope the restaurant can overcome this. And I hope that kid is held accountable.
Facing more than 25 years, for killing a woman and "violating" her remains. This should be an automatic life without parole, or death. Prisoners choice for all I care. But a chance at freedom should be completely out of the question. Period.
Heck of a score for law enforcement ! I doubt the courier will ever be seen alive again though.
