I find most titles give an automatic impression of what people expect you do, and it usually bears no relation to the reality. Like me being General Manager of my company conjures up things in people's minds as to what that means.

Meanwhile, you'll continue being awesome at being you, no matter what title you have to carry around as well :)

In response to your two questions here:

1. Referring to soul - see Diane's comment! :)

2. The Spirit of God dwelling inside - to quote A.W. Tozer - “I am talking about His coming and possessing the full body and mind and life and being, taking over the entire personality, directly but gently making it His, so that we may become a habitation of God in the Spirit.”
So He fills our whole being, not JUST our spirit and soul. :)

My view of the tripartate man is a little different - we are spirit, soul & body, with the soul being made up of our mind, will & emotions.

I think the spirit is separate from the soul, which explains why we are to try and not concentrate on soulish things, but rather things of the Spirit. If the soul & spirit were part of the same thing, this wouldn't make sense. Hebrews 4:12 in the Amplified highlights this distinction quite well I think http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebre...

So while much of what you have laid out in your post I can identify with, I don't think of it as my soul responding...it's my spirit responding to Spirit. And they are totally intertwined with our body as well. We can't be affected in one part without it affecting the other parts.

I've always been very aware that how I'm thinking/feeling affects my body. It's not for nothing that there's industries built on the power of positive thinking - it works, but it's more important for that positive thinking to be focussed on Truly nourishing our spirits so our souls can feed off that goodness :)

Write songs...and post quick 'n' dirty recordings to your posterous.

I know it's not as pretty as all this Wordpress fun, but for mini-bloggers like us, it's the right answer.

You know it's true :)

(and I'm having an amazingly busy but blessed day - hope yours was/is too!)

Oh good...I can still bug you if I see you online after 2am :)

I've gone through seasons of giving stuff up for lent. It's good to make it a luxury thing, and social media can be that for sure - or for others it can (sadly) be an essential lifeline.

This year we have such an intensely busy period of time ahead that adding more noise, by removing noise, may be counter productive. Not sure what that means, but since I'm half-way through the first day of lent here, I'd better decide what I am or am not giving up pretty soon huh.

I'm an accountant in my other life (?) and Excel is a necessity with macros that can't be replicated in Google Docs (as much as I love it). The ERP system my company uses also enables direct database linking to Excel for reporting & analysis, so it's needed for that.

Office 2007 was a disaster on both those fronts, so I hope Office 2010 fixes it. Word from the ERP people is that it looks like Microsoft have listened to the thousands of complaints about Office 2007's UNusability in a business context.

I'll be curious to check out the Web Apps to see if it allows macros & dbase linking to my ERP system online :)
