I breastfed 5 of my 6 babies...2yr old and 4yr old are still at it. My kids have all been so healthy; I attribute that to extended nursing and no immunizations. I enjoy the time sitting with them looking down at the joy and comfort that they get while nursing. I would say that when I had my first child, breastfeeding was not really talked about (Sam and I are around the same age) or pushed. It was more like the formula was the norm...they even sent you home with bottles and formula! I tried with my first, but got no support and gave up within the first two weeks :-( I read up on the subject and got more support with my other children and don't regret extended breastfeeding. I'm scared to see what my boobs are going to look like when they're not filled with milk anymore ;-p
