the bigger problem for twitter are all the phished accounts that are sending spam DM's

as its too hard to raise the IQ of sheeple....they really need to do something about automating link control if they want to survive.

My answer is at the end of the day my target is someone sitting in his living room watching a MLB baseball game who has a netbook open and is chatting to other fans.

He doesn't want to talk about NFL, or Hockey, Or ..... XYZ.
He doesn't want to watch postage stamp video, or watch video from his iPhone etc etc.
It's just a very fast very straight forward chat application with some social networking hooks tied in so he can invite friends to the chat room using Twitter and Facebook.

So i guess the answer is give your feedback to Ecto that you want a minimal product but if there are 5 other users saying they want feature rich then the compaby either has to
1/ support and market both
2/ chose to make one set of users unhappy and go all cut down minimal or all feature rich
3/ better yet, white label the technology as a totally different company name and offer minimal as one product and feature rich as Ecto.

I guess this is always the problem with designing any software application, not all things suit all users - you need to chose your "Quadrant" and deliver the product that you think is goign to make that specific user happy.

The number of VC meetings i have been in over the last 6 months where VC's are saying that www.LiveBaseballChat.com has to have more functionality, or that we have to mash up the chats from the other 7 sports websites on the same master domain, or that it's not going to make it because Justin.tv has video(illegal) and we dont.
