Actually Bob,

If people say that The Show is the reason to get a PS3 then MLB 2K is the reason to get a ...PS3 even quicker.

No offense to your company but 2K Sports knows basketball and Football, and even knew Hockey...but when it comes to Baseball, they havent had a realistic and completely entertaining baseball game since World Series Baseball 98 on the Saturn. (And they might have actually been Sega back then...so I dont know if that qualifies!)

How about.....

+ADD a HISTORY section:
As you complete each season in your franchise, you create pages of history, stats, boxscores, Playoff scores, League leaders, Final Standings, etc that can be easily referenced and looked up by season in a neatly organized section of the game called HISTORY or ALMANAC. This way you can always look back and reference information from previous seasons. This is critical in baseball and gives true depth to a FRANCHISE MODE

+ADD an IMPORT FRANCHISE feature:
We all have probablly cursed this under our breath many times not only in MLB the Show but in ever single Sports video game, "Damn it, now I gotta start my Franchise all over again...!" Why should upgrading to a newer version of a Sports game force you to start the work that you've done before all over again??....It shouldn't! Would you accept having to get a new cell phone number just because you bought a new phone? In fact, it would be in a companies best interest to add this feature. Im sure there are a certain percentage of sales LOST every year because people are content with their existing franchise progress and dont want to start all over.

+ADD USER CREATED TEAMS to Franchise Mode:
This would be just cool. Alot of people would like the ability to merge their fictitious team creations with real life players and teams and create WHAT IF Scenario Franchises!

+ADD Physics Based COLLISION MODELS:
The close tag is one of the most exciting aspects of baseball. In MLB, its rather dull and lacks variety. This new feature would allow for more realistic slides, collisions, take out slides and dynamic plays at the bag and at the plate. This would also allow for your occasional fielder collisions due to miscommunications

+ADD a STADIUM CREATOR:
Anyone old enough to remember the days of Earl Weaver Baseball?....How freakin cool was it to be able to build your own ballpark? Think about it. Madden has offered this feature for a few years now but in football its really just an aesthetic reward because it adds no real value to the actual gameplay. But in baseball, Ball park dimensions can literally change the dynamics of an entire team!...(see the NY Mets of 2009 as a horrific example)

+ADD Dynamic and Individual AI MANAGERS:
Why with a game THIS deep and advanced do we have to settle for one AI style manager making decisions for every single team in your Franchise? We all know how diverse each managers philosophies and priorities are in the MLB, why not flesh this out further and represent it in the game?

I absolutely cant stand NHL 10's 'on rails' gameplay and floaty puck physics. This is such an overrated game that is very simplistic and has a very poor franchise mode. Can we still vote for NHL 2K8 as the best Hockey game??....

Oh well, my vote for best games are the following:

MLB the Show 09
NBA 2K10

None other really come close to the depth, realism and polish these 2 games offer.

Madden needs a new engine with real momentum based physics...the gameplay is getting very stale and predictable. Too many plays result in that 'deja vu' feeling of, " I think I just saw that exact thing happen the last time I ran that play!"

And the reason why the COST to make these games this generation is higher than the audience willing to buy them is because these f&^%ing suites and project managers that design these games have no concept on how to make a game that will increase in sales each year. These same companies are pouring more wasted money and development into useless bull$hit features while the actual gameplay is inferior to the same product they produced 6 years earlier on a previous gen console!

Just for a second, if someone had a clue in management to take a step back and think, " Hmmm, before we waste anymore time and development dollars on adding a Mascot Showdown mode, mini game DNA module, or spending the money to send an army of designers out to Wisconsin to make sure that they have Badger Stadium's left endzone corridor accurately modeled, maybe....just maybe they can prioritize a fraction of those dollars to improve the actual gameplay experience for the player. Hmmm?

MLB The Show is the best Sports game on any platform for a reason....they have their priorities in order and they dont spread themselves and their money too thin with useless features to try and bullet on the back of their box each year.

some of these new features are nice but what I would still love to see them ADD:

Its a travesty...as is 2K Sports in general. NHL 2K Hockey is such an underrated gem of a game and the irony in all this stink is the fact that the MLB 2K game which is the real stinker is responsible for this entire mess....which is also responsible for destroying one of 2K's other great titles, College Hoops!

2K should try to salvage whatever's left and start heavily negotiating (begging) EA to work some sort of Exclusive License rights exchange so both companies can make Baseball and Football games. The 2 sports that both 2K and EA are proficient at, they legally cant even create because of all this silly greed and politics. Good old corporate capitalism at its finest!

Who really suffers?....hmmm (looking in the mirror)

They should put John Madden's mother on the cover...at least that would be most indicative of it's traditional (::cough::: old and uninspired ) game play

Just an idea
