I just don't get it. How this is any of my business that is. I am not Sandra Bullock. I am not Sandra Bullock's husband. I am not Sandra Bullock's husband's woman on the side. I am not a white supremacist. I have no connection with these people whatsoever other than the fact that I am a person also, and I happened to like the movie Speed. The Blindside was just alright.

So why all the coverage? The question of "Who cares?" is pointless, because the answer is a resounding "Everybody". Everybody cares about this. People rather care about this than things that have an immediate effect on them, like taxes.

Unless I'm wrong..

Maybe people like to know about this because it brings these people back down to a human level. I don't have to feel like I'm a total loser because even winners go through the same shit.

Great :)

You sound like you've embraced living in the times we live in. Time is too precious nowadays to spend any of it in a less than desirable state. The thing is, time has always been precious. But now it is PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE to do something that a part of you may feel is "jerk-like". Because if the other party understands what is really going on, they know it isn't personal. It's just you getting on with it. They probably do the same thing.

I used to be able to cut someone out of my world completely. I'm convinced it has left permanent scars in my psyche. I've known for a few years that I can't do it anymore, but now I feel like it runs deeper than that. Beware of the residual effects of doing such. It becomes a solution to every problem, kind of like Tequila.

I still fail to see why real-time status updates became such a social phenomenon.

There is nothing classy about Twitter, yet the list of "first ____ on twitter" still seems to grow daily. I ask who cares. But before I'm answered by the multitude of twitter users ("twits" as I like to call them) out there with how many followers they have, I'd like to remind people that being followed on twitter doesn't mean people care about what you have to say. It means they could care less. Being your twitter follower is the best they can do? Call them on the phone. Go out for a slice of coffee cake. How many of your followers can you do this with?

And Kristyn, although I'm agreeing with you, realize that there are some socially inept "twits" that have nothing better to do than know the ins and outs of Angie Jackson's naughty bits. She's already a hero to a bunch of people I'll never have the pleasure of "knowing", because I rather truly care about what's on their minds than pretend I care by following their inane dribble.
