is there no other way to get to 6.1.2 or 6.1.3? cydia doesnt show blobs for my phone for 6.0+

I have not been in this scene since the iphone 4 (launch versions) first got untethered jailbroken and unlocked. I currently have a iPhone 4 baseband 01.59.00 on ios 4.3.3 untethered jailbroken and unlocked using ultrasn0w.
As you can see I am on a pretty old firmware and have not actually upgraded in a very long time. In the last year or so, my mom has been using this phone but I want to upgrade it now. I have done some youtube video watching and read some articles, but seeing as there are so many options, I am getting overwhelmed and confused.
I'd like to upgrade to 6.1.2 or 6.1.3 (whichever has a untethered jailbreak and unlock). I also want to make sure like i do not lose my ability to downgrade while preserving the baseband as I remember to be able to do with SHSH blobs being saved in Cydia. I went into cydia to make sure all my blobs were saved and noticed that the last blob i have there is for a version of ios 5. No blobs after that. I read one of the articles there talking about how the ios 6 blobs are "useless" and how the issue effects iphone 4 (i guess i am effected.) I couldnt understand it much..
So here is what I need help with. I need a step by step guide on what to do to:
1) upgrade my iphone 4 on baseband 01.59.00 to 6.1.2 or 6.1.3 (whichever version has a untethered jailbreak and unlock) while preserving baseband.
2) jailbreak the upgraded phone.
3) finally, unlock the phone (hopefully with ultrasn0w.
Please help me.

I have a iPhone 4 (At&t) unlocked for Tmobile USA via ultrasnOw on baseband 01.59.00.
I have been away from the jailbreak/unlock scene since iOS 4.3.3 was released (Yea very long lol). I have done some research about upgrading to iOS 5.1.1. It is my understanding that I can use sn0wbreeze to preserve my baseband and upgrade to iOS 5.1.1 and then use ultrasn0w to unlock.
What I want to know is how do i backup and restore my data. I think i can backup data such as contacts and what apps I have via itunes (please correct me if i am wrong). What I am a bit confused about is the in-app data (mainly for games and for apps that have loads of settings and stuff). How do I backup all these data and then restore it when i am upgraded to iOS 5.1.1.
When i upgrade to iOS 5.1.1, and i connect my phone to itunes should i set up as new or restore from backup?
If some1 can guide me on this i'd be a great help. Btw, i did download App Backup, but i am not entirely sure on how to use it.

I spoke to my brother and he told me that verizon gave him a unlock or sorts. He says he cannot use the iphone on any carrier here in the US except for verizon but the unlock that verizon apparently did for my brothers iphone 4s allows him to use any carrier outside of the USA. I tried putting my cut tmobile sim in his phone and it didnt work. He hasnt had a chance to see if the international unlock actually works. Will have to check the next time we go overseas.

Anyway, this post is to find out about iphone 4s unlock. I tried doing research but couldnt find a straight answer.
This iphone 4s is my friends, and he wants to get it unlocked. I havent yet looked at it so i dont knw what iOS its on or baseband. I just want to know what is the highest iphone 4S iOS that can be unlocked using ultrasn0w and what basebands are supported by ultrasn0w for iphone 4s.
I am familiar with unlocking for iphone 4 with redsn0w for windows. If there is an unlock for iphone 4s, please let me know and if the method to do so is different, let me know that as well.
On a similar note, my brother also has a iphone 4s on 5.0 which he wants to upgrade to 5.1.1 but he wants to only do so if he can unlock it. Also is there a unlock for 5.0?

i took out my tmobile sim and put it my deactivated ATT microsim and instantly my push notifications started working...i dont know how to make sense of this as push used to work just fine with tmobile.

I need the unlock so I cannot afford any mess ups.
Option A:
TinyUnbrella (Latest version) running TSS Server restore to 4.3.3 stock then use fix recovery 43 to kick out of recovery then use Ultrasn0w 1.2.3
Option B:
Use Sn0breeze 2.7 to make custom 4.3.3 to preserve baseband. Then use ultrasn0w 1.2.3. to unlock.
Which is the better (more fail safe) option? (i know both have risks but which one is a person less likely to get bricked/non-unlockable iphone?)
I do have a deactivated ATT microsim so i do not need to hacktivate.
Also, once upgraded, should i use jailbreakme.com on 4.3.3 to jailbreak or use redsn0w? if redsn0w which version should i use? 0.9.8 i read supports ios 5 beta while 0.9.6rc19 i read was meant for ios 4.3.3
This is the first time i'll be doing a upgrade so im a bit nervous. As i said i need the unlock as this is the only phone i have so can't have anything messing up.
Thanks in advance for help.

SHSH/hashes arent something you need to physically pull out and use. if they are saved on the cydia server, then you can just use TinyUmbrella the way i told you above to do the restore. This should also prevent your iphone from upgrading the baseband.
I'll be honest, I am no expert. I am telling you all these from what I have read and understood from my own research.
I myself am in in works to upgrade to 4.3.3. I am currently on 4.0 on my iphone 4 lol. Best is to what youtube videos. I feel visuals help me understand better than reading.
