By your thinking some freedoms are more important than others. Sorry, I was born, as we all were, with God given rights to Life, liberty and the pusuit of happiness. Anything less is worthless.

When government tells me what kind of light bulb I can buy, whether or not I can burn firewood in my fireplace, buy any car I am willing to afford (sorry son, you must pay a gas gusseler tax - even though you pay tax on every gallon you buy) - these are examples of lost freedom. I am too busy working to read up on which ones I've lost this week. That's why I vote for representatives, to keep an eye on it. Well they're the ones failing me.

I fear no one can identify freedoms lost. With the eager passage of 1300 page bills that go unread week after week. We will all figure it out when we unknowingly go about our lives as usual only to find we have broken some new regulation. However I have at least one example that even you must agree.

All of our property rights are dwindling. Income taxes, sales taxes, fees, charges, assesments, tolls, meters, energy offsets, carbon credits... the list goes on. The cost of energy is going up, not because production costs have risen but because the use of energy is now viewed as evil. Cap and trade will artificially inflate the cost of everything we purchase. Punitive charges created to appease a fanatical agenda regarding "climate change". I don't know about you but I have received notification that my energy bill, gas and electicity, are to go up by at least 30 percent within the next year. Resulting from energy legislation to reduce carbon emissions by energy producers. Punishment.

You equate disatisfaction with the government with fear and division? I see thousands of people coming together at thousands of "tea parties" as the ultimate in cohesion, not division. Just people voicing their intollerance for those who mislead, self-serve and destroy potential through il-conceived rubbish (Stimulus plan, Obama budget, etc). What did Hillary Clinton scream back when, that it is patriotic to disagree with any administration? (Sorry I don't have any talking points letter in front of me to spice this up).
