I guess my confusion is really about the wording "This means iPhone unlockers can safely restore to a custom 4.2.1 pre-jailbroken IPSW and retain their current baseband and unlock." Do they mean retain the present unlock or retain the *possibility* to unlock?
Oh, and thanks for replying!

I have an iPhone 4 on FW 4.0.1, BB 01.59.00, jailbroken and unlocked. (Jailbreakme/Ultrasn0w). I use a Mac.
If I use PwnageTool 4.2 to install a custom FW 4.2.1, will I have to unlock again? Will Ultrasn0w unlock 4.2.1 with BB 01.59.00? (I remember from my original iPhone that back then PwnageTool included the option to unlock. The Dev-Team's post says it "retains" the baseband and unlock... I'm confused.)
"smokingiphone" already gave great instructions, but they seemed PC based and iClarified doesn't address the unlock question nor the baseband.
Any help/instructions/tips.thoughts appreciated!
