It's amazing how many stories come complete with video and/or audio and the MSM 'still' ignores them if they don't fit the narrative.

When you're totally committed to your ideology and totally opposed to those on the "other side" - you get pretzel logic like this.

Respectfully disagree ... the theme here is the triumph of the human spirit against unbelievable odds. Precious has every right to phone life in, to essentially call it a day. But she strives to better herself and become a responsible parent.

Chevy Chase is surprisingly good in the film ... something overlooked about it as it segues from pleasant comedy to Christmas classic.

I love "Annie Hall," but it still hurts my soul that "Star Wars" didn't get Best Picture. I remember watching the Awards that year ... I was only about 9 but even then I felt a sense of outrage.

I consider myself a conservative, but I'm also an adult who can laugh at crude humor. I don't think conservatives should all fall in line and only accept entertainment that leaves out sexual material. Some conservatives do, and that's their choice. I don't. "Virgin" does offer plenty of traditionally conservative values, but it does so using some pretty adult material.

As a film critic I will not dismiss a movie simply because it embraces a liberal philosophy. If I did, I wouldn't have many movies to review. I also don't mind an R-rated comedy as long as it is funny, smart and entertaining.

I think we can agree to disagree here, and I appreciate you taking the time to read my post - and this follow up.

I had to stop reading Wells a while ago ... I don't like to verbally assault fellow bloggers, particularly movie bloggers, but his site is too often a very ugly place to visit. This is just another example of just that. Sad.

This is a tough issue ... it isn't easy to boil down into sound bites, and there's no easy visual component.

The MSM tried to ignore the ACORN scandal, and it did for a while. I suggest the media will be far better at ignoring this despite all the good reportage being done by you and your colleages.

Let's look at the other side of Iraq and Afghanistan. The other side wants to kill lots of people, rob the remaining people of their freedom/dignity/etc. and submit women to horribly cruel living situations.

Fair enough, Mr. Romero?
