Thank you for all of your great points, Landshark. Any one who is curious can easily search the internet and find SCIENTIFIC studies regarding the positive effects that marijuana has with many illnesses, including shrinking the size of many types of cancerous tumors. It works better than many pharmaceutical drugs for pain, nausea and other medical problems, but for some reason, marijuana has gotten a very bad rap.
I've had the same observation. . . marijuana mellows people out. After they take a few puffs they may get the giggles, have "philosophical" conversations (which are funny to listen in on as a sober person because they really aren't very profound even though the toked out participants think so) or just lay on the couch shoveling food in their faces but it does NOT make them violently attack strangers. The only negative thing I've observed is that the pot user may get slightly paranoid and think they are having medical problems or think that the police are going to "bust" them. . . but no chewing on random strangers faces. And you're right. . . marijuana stays in the system for days to weeks after use (depending on frequency of use, body fat levels, etc), so he may have not even been high during his crazy attack on this poor man. Clearly something else was going on with this guy.
"Kindness in America"?????? Maybe he should re-title his book to "How I Nearly Destroyed an Innocent Man's Life because I am a Total Loser Looking for Publicity". This fool should be charged for false reporting, and I hope the true victim here is able to put his life back together and get this arrest off of his criminal record.
Such a immense tragedy. My deepest sympathies to the friends and family of this sweet and wonderful girl.
Camp Eyabsut is part of The NW Burn Foundation and it relies on the donations (from organizations and individuals) to send children to burn camp. I'm not sure if their reasons are financial or not. The note on their website (NWBurn.org) states that they are "enthusiastically changing" some of their camp initiatives since the camp is 25 yrs old. I just wonder what needed to change so drastically that they couldn't run the camp this year (if the reason is not financial). The good news is that they appear to be committed to continuing the program in the future. I wish they could have done something for the kids this year so they don't have to sit out a summer. It's the one place where a lot of these children don't feel like outcasts. Very sad.
I wish we could know what the reason is for not having camp this year. We donated money to help in the cost of sending a child to burn camp. If we had known there was financial trouble, we would have donated twice as much. I really think the camp makes such a huge difference to the children, and it's a shame that it won't happen this summer. I hope they work out whatever issues they are having so that it can continue next year.
Can you imagine how Hana probably initially felt, being so "lucky" to be adopted from an Ethiopian orphanage into an American family where she thought she would be loved, fed and cared for? That is the part that breaks my heart the most. I don't know how long it took, but at some point this dear child realized that these people were monsters. It makes me so sick and so sad for her.
Both of these sickos should never been allowed the chance to be out on bail. Her husband was re-arrested in January after sending his biological children bible phrases where he substituted himself in the place of Apostle Paul and his children for Timothy in an attempt to manipulate them into not testifying against him. And now Carri is trying to mess with the adopted son whom she abused, shamed and tortured on a daily basis (even after she and her husband killed his adopted sister)? These people have no decency and no shame. . . . lock them up for the rest of their lives, and hopefully in the future, the courts think twice about giving accused child murderers the benefit of the doubt to be walking around free while they wait for trial. Their bail should have stayed at 500K in the first place . . . . we have no idea of the emotional/mental impact and trauma of their actions for the surviving children (witnesses to the abuse that killed Hana) to have them violating court orders and most likely attempting to obstruct justice.
Puhlease. . . . this guy is trying to call the shots after what he's done? "Give me back my little luxuries and I'll tell you more"? What utter baloney. I don't think we really need this dirt-bag's version of events. Please do not bargain with this scumbag. We know he viciously killed an innocent woman and that's good enough for me. . . . his reasons do not interest me in the least. Throw him back in his cell, let his teeth rot out of his head, let his beard grow down to his toes and let him smell the stench of his unwashed body for the rest of his pathetic life. He really doesn't deserve any more than that.
I wish KOMO and other news sites would put up a photo of Susan with her sons to accompany these types of stories. . . . I can't stand looking at this scumbag or his murderous son anymore. Hope this POS gets what's coming to him while he is still on this earth, using up valuable oxygen. My only comfort is that at least his son is saving a nice-n-toasty spot next to him in hell.
