Same here. I had always hard coded the categories to exclude so I was pretty happy to find this plugin. Makes it super easy for my clients to control what is on the navigation menu.

Yes, Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org self-hosted blogs are different.  Wordpress.com is similar to blogger in that you do not have complete control over your blog.

Most PLR you can edit all you want.  It helps to get the juices flowing!  I have often used it just for that purpose.
