Canadianlady, my hat is off to you. You put into words exactly what my husband and I had been discussing. If this drama queen father had done what you suggest, I believe the young girl would have eventually felt a sense of shame about publicly criticizing her parents. This way, he is showing her that he, too, likes to air his dirty laundry for all the world to see, and his daughter will, also, despise him even more.. He is also teaching her that guns are a way to deal with problems, and this might come back to bite him. I agree with your last statement, as well. I believe this man must be hell to live with, and I think the girl is counting the days when she will be old enough to get out on her own.

I bet I'm a lot more conservative than you are, lefty. I just don't believe that needless destruction is any way to teach a kid anything or in using a firearm to do it. Firearms should be used as a last resort only when you want to kill or wound a living being, not to show your anger.
He is scary. There are other ways of disciplining a child besides wasteful destruction and needless use of a firearm. Some people will go to any lengths to get their fifteen minutes.
