I'm glad for your daughter that your insurance covered such a major, and much needed surgery. Again, I work in the field and see first hand people who pay high premiums and get very little in return. They don't realize it until they need it. obama's plan is not the answer. Keep it private but clean it up and allow for more competition.
northemeyer, Your right, I did misread your intent. I still agree with what you said. Thanks for pointing that out.
northermeyes, I agree with most of what you say. It's getting harder and harder to read about him every day, but we have to..... One think I don't agree with you on is your comment about doctors. I am not one but work in the industry. For the most part they are not getting the big bucks everyone thinks they are. They go to school 7 years after college, if they are specialized add another 4-7 years and for what? To provide a service any maybe get paid 60-90-120 days later? What other profession does that? Try going to a lawyer, an accountant, even the grocer. Try going to the store and telling the grocer you will maybe pay them in 60-90-120 days at a fraction of what they are worth. I am in 100% agreement with you that the insurance companies are evil. Those who have insurance pay high premiums and have to pay to use it , i.e. co-pays and deductibles. Then they don't pay the doctor, hospital, pharmacy etc. Doctors are having to do more to make more so they can pay their staff, pay for insurance to cover frivolous law suits, increasing rent, increasing utilities, etc. I can go on but I won't. Enough said.
