And yet, the GOP continues to allow these reporters to moderate primary debates where they control the issues and even inject phony strawmen which are then used by the other side.

The GOP will continue to lose if they don't change the way they veiw and engage with the NY/DC media axis. These are not good-faith partners seeking the truth .....they are generally an enemy camp that coordinates with the democrat party.

it was the worst run campaign since bob dole and Schmidt should never be hired by any GOP candidate again.

The McCain campaign seemed to have more than one loser / GOP pretender on his staff .....Mark Mckinon , who now writes for the lib daily beast, quit the McCain campaign in the general election because he did not want to be part of the campaign against Obama.

Now both men make their living being "acceptable" conservatives for lib media.....pathetic shmucks

Yeah judging from the comments , probably true. These angry bird-brains (soul surfer a good example) will get their sugar high seeing this phony bash the media and knock Obama. Hope their satisfaction lasts for another 4 years of Obama. Of course I'll dish out $ and work the phones for Newt if he wins... because after all, anything's better than Obama.

Here's Newt again defining what is good capitalism and bad. Yes Newt you might have run 4 small businesses but your wealth comes from being a paid lobbyist for Freddie mac. You're an ultimate Washington insider with a walk in closet full of skeletons that the Obama communists will gladly exploit in the general.

The people that worked with him in the 90's kicked him out of the speakership because he was leadship disaster; and just about every prominent GOP governor, people who lead, have endorsed Romney. Newt is no conservative , he's a demagogue who's tapped into the anger that conservatives have against the MSM and against the cancer in the white house.

Newt may be the greatest avatar for conservative anger over the last 12 years.....the betrayal of conservative principles by Bush , followed by the path of destruction Obama's pursuing. Sure , If nominated I'll give $ to the campaign and vote for him.

But I suspect the last scene in the picture for all you Newt supporters is that after a 45 state blow out win by Obama, you all take you're angry ball and go home

I prefer Romney as because of his executive experience and ability to solve problems in the private and public sector. This being said , Newt is magnificent when taking on the media-leftist complex. This is a classic hit-piece by a media arm of David Axelrod's sex scandal machine......the machine that brought us this cancer that occupies the white house.

I wish the GOP would realize , by the utter hostility that people like Ann Curry , Solidad O'brian or any of the other liberal one-percenters that occupy 99% of our media display, that these people are enemies of conservatives, can never be trusted , and can never be convinced to like us.

We should also , all of us who identify ourselves as conservatives, stop watching their channels or buying their magazines........make them as financially bankrupt as they are morally and perhaps we will have a media that is not corrupt someday.

Apply McCain-style republicanism , with it's policy of engaging but not challenging the media script , and we will continue to lose elections

Really incredible. you can see the anger coming out of this puke O'Brian.....in many ways CNN is more loathsome than MSNBC. At least MSNBC goes full tilt leftist without pretending. CNN is a left wing network that pretends to be impartial. I hope these episodes further tank their ratings

I'm not sorry about this NYT liberal journalist getting trashed by one of her own.......she will learn and go back to the herd , kissing the ass of the Obama's. Journalism died in 2008

very well said. This is the man who's the architect of McCain republicanism....which includes trying to be liked by rabid slimeballs like Matthews. In addition , he ran one of the most disastrous campaigns since Bob Dole. Schmidt he gets what he deserves ..the chickens have come home to roost

I agree. Newt's campaign has now turned personal and seeking payback.

Recall in 2008 , a bunch of pseudo-conservatives conspired to take down Romney , paving the way for an MSM loving , reach across the aisle democrat-lite that ran the most incompetent campaign since Bob Dole. Remember that Mitt was considered the "conservative alternative " to John Mccain in that primary/

When so-called conservatives start criticizing capitalism and using the OWS language of the Obamites , we are in trouble. I want to win , to defeat this cancer that occupies the white house today. None of the candidates in this cycle are ideologically pure. But I guarantee that many have the ability to win only 3-4 states in a landslide election for Obama. I'm going with the most conservative candidate that can win.....we have so forgotten the Buckley rule.

Not surprising questions. A bunch of former democrat hacks in media , operating now under a thin patina of impartiality , would waste our time pursuing hypothetical and stupid questions related to social issues while the economy burns under Obama.

Can the GOP party leadership be smart about this and conduct our party debates without MSM democrats setting the debate agenda? Can they stop being the stupid party?
