just another spoiled-rotten poorly-raised narcissistic millennial

hey buddy just because you can climb doesn't make you a climber

you have no respect for the rock or other climbers. get out of the gym and get yourself a mentor.

BTW the trail between the 1st and 2nd seems to attract a large number of loud, raucous, immature kids who are up there to blast terrible techno out of tinny speakers, yell, trundle rocks and smoke weed so if youre looking for a nice pleasant outing you should probably look elsewhere.

pretty irresponsible article DC

there's nothing but an extremely presumptive link between the permit complaint and this man's suicide

Charlie, what is the point of this article? its pretty clear from your own writing that the guy had much more serious problems than being told to get the proper permits before continuing his project. The article even suggests he wasn't even upset about it.

its admirable that Gold Hill residents are using this tragedy to motivate them to be more neighborly but there is someone up there (possibly with good intentions) who called the county about their neighbor's unpermitted renovation that probably feels terrible enough without your article basically accusing them of driving this man to suicide.

I went to a rock-themed church service once. My memory's a bit fuzzy from all the Holy Sacrament but I'm pretty sure they played Truckin!

6 chair on Corona? Lookout tripling in size? Moving into Boulder and Jenny Creeks?
Kind of seems like they're blowing it out, not just expanding. I really liked the homey funky feel of Eldora, the local freaky vibe and have been riding there since they had night skiing. If this place ends up feeling like Summit Co. I'm gone.

Wonder how much public opposition it would take to actually change the FS mind on something like this it never seems to make any difference.

the article is clear: the path will end at the link trailhead.

if the masses can't handle that trail they can bail out. chapman drive will be one option. also, fourmile canyon can be taken to the betasso trails too without having to climb the link. i know that means riding/running on a road but its much safer than bocan.

this mostly helps the people that already use the area, either dangerously (cycling on the road) or by driving.

kudos to the county for recognizing the need to make it safer for the mountain biking community and get some folks out of their cars. there really is currently nowhere in boulder you can mountain bike without driving or risking your neck.

now if we could only get a few more trails...this project will undoubtedly increase traffic on an already massively popular trail system.

LOTS of wildlife up in the foothills right now. Not a good time to take unleashed dogs up there. If your dog is chasing wildlife, you're violating the law anyway so quit pretending your dog is under voice and sight like this lady in the article was. When wildlife is around It's not. Ever.

Save your dog's life, maybe your own. Leashes for now. The foothills are crawling with bears.

So there is a year-round shelter with 60 beds. And lots of people sleep outside instead. Why? So they can drink and use drugs. This will still happen if there is a higher-capacity year-round shelter.

It's pretty disingenuous and misguided to use the OD deaths to argue for the shelter when the homeless aren't dying of exposure, but over-consumption and addiction. Trying to guilt people in such a way is probably the wrong way to get what you want. It's not Boulder's fault these people died.

One thing most of these people seem to have in common is an unwillingness to take responsibility for their own actions and decisions. Always someone else's fault.

3 months in prison for manslaughter and felony drug distribution?

What a joke the legal system has become. Somebody's getting paid off here.
