People have a right to object to the new format.. dont disregard people's opinions with a simple "if you don't like it don't watch" attitude.

I never post on show blogs and forums, but being a huge fan of the Design Star series, I feel compelled to post about how disappointed I am in this series and the new show format overall. The biggest problem is that these challenges with the dresses, the music and now the flowers is that it's so high concept that it's way over the average fan of the series' head. I loved the old shows challenges that offered an individual designer's challenge with budget or style constraint, and then showed their successful or unsuccesful exploration of that challenge. I would watch those challenges and say "wow, that's cool...I'd love to do that in a room at my house." In the current series, I'm so detached from the product that I'm getting extremely bored.
The other issue is the drama, and encouraging the drama and conflict by having these groups constantly together. Sure, in past shows there has been a bit of drama. It's unavoidable, and when handled correctly, highlights an important aspect of design work. But I think it's really lame to have the designers not only struggle with good design choices, but to also have to battle with other designers for their voice to be heard. David Bromstaad has probably one of the best shows on HGTV, and he came from the first series of Design Star. I'm left wondering if even he would have been successful had he been on a team with a person like Nina who is very much about getting her way?
I'd like to see the old format returned, please. I've canceled my DVR recording of the show, and honestly right now I doubt I'll watch any more of this series.. it's no longer as interesting as it once was. As for Mark Burnett productions, I really hope your next stop is not the Next Food Network star, because you'll ruin that show as well.

Well, in this case, repetition is important.. sounds like you're complaining that everyone is commenting on the same stuff? Personally, I cannot stand the new format, and I think the more people voice their opinion, the more of a chance HGTV listens and goes back to the old format.
