That's one of the most insightful and charitable assessments of Obama I've read. This is the first time I've considered the possibility that his arrogant and aloof manner are really hiding a deeper fear that he's in over his head or that he just doesn't measure up or can't do the job. But, it's also VERY frightening to think that our President and what people used to consider the leader of the free world doesn't have the confidence to even sit in an interview without his crutch, the teleprompter. Makes me wonder if he really comprehends the issues confronting him as President. If he can't address the issues or answer questions about them, speaking from his own understanding, his own assessment and analysis without assistance, it makes me wonder if he really understands what they are? Does he have any original thoughts or his own solutions, independent of his writers and counselors? Scary. However, I feel hope for the U.S. and take comfort in the fact that, like Jimmy Carter, he's going to be a one-term wonder. November 2012 couldn't come too soon.
