I am appalled by this award. I've been collecting funds for the JNF since I was a Hebrew school bocher walking door to door. No more! There are other pro-Israel organizations to which I can contribute. Just how low can we set the bar? Will anti-Black bigotry be accepted as long as a guy brings a few tourists to Israel? JNF is clearly an organization whose time is past.

I'm more than astonished by the author's headline question, how could they be so insensitive? Rodgers and Hammerstein were simply Americans of their time. If you watch the hundreds of movies made in the 1940's and 1950's, no foreign culture, especially an "exotic" one, was represented with even the slightest realism. They were all homogenized American imaginings of "Orientals", etc. That was the America of the time.

You believe what G-d says in His word? So I'm sure you don't eat shrimp or pork, right? Or are you selective in following G-d's word, as so many who claim to be believers are? Fifty years ago, many of them used Bible quotes to justify segregation.

Really? Seriously? What happens when a wounded neo-Nazi skinhead with swastika tattoos comes into the emergency room and is attended to by a Jewish nurse and a Jewish doctor? They treat him, that's what, and they treat him well!
