It's not arrogant to be efficient. Only by being efficient can one be accessible, which is one of the best qualities of people like brad and successful people in general.

Having spent the past year interviewing very time constrained people (CEOs and VCs), I can say without question that these rules are dead on. Particularly the part about knowing how much time you have and trying to accomplish an objective vs. filling up 30 minutes with idle chatter. I've found that it's best to notify the interviewee that we are running over even if s/he is fully engaged- they are always appreciative and if really interested, excited to schedule another, less time constrained, call.

Thanks for the 15 minutes Brad.

speaking of gaming, have you ever seen Plura processing? They use excess capacity on gamer's computers to do grid computing. Business model involves buying capacity from the game developers and selling it to those in need of computing power at prices comparable to amazon web services. i love bmodels that add a completely new and uncompeting revenue stream.

your post got me thinking, what kind of service could use excess capacity/functionality of mobile gamers? when i look down the cab on the NYC subway, I see at least 5-6 people playing solitare or Iphone finger-snake. Games make great trojan horses, just trying to think of what to put inside of them...

hope all is well,
b

Thanks brad. Just the other day, my buddy and I were talking about how everyone says its ok to failure, but they fail to mention that it continues to suck.

Funny thing about black holes is that you are completely lost, without hope, all momentum turned inertia, no friction to get anywhere, flailing helplessly in oily, suffocating, darkness and then...

the light switch flips and there you are you are standing in your room, unshaven, out of shape, but otherwise completely health and capable, just wondering why you are still in your PJs at 1130am. and then you get moving.
