Thanks for you comments. It's a little odd that this post keeps getting comments even though Verizon has now had iPhone for awhile, so the monopoly was broken awhile ago.

Thanks for taking a second to comment. I wanted to move my blog in more of a personal direction to mix with the business stuff. It feels good to be raw sometimes.

Thanks for the comment AJ. Yes, most companies (regardless of size) don't have much strategy rooting their marketing efforts; especially around social media marketing. As you mention, changes are moving so fast that it's hard to keep up and adapt, but that's what every business that wants to stay in business must do.

The challenge for most businesses is that no one goes into business to be on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, FourSquare, Pinterest, Google+, etc., but in the world we live in it's imperative to be there and be there with an understanding of how to best communicate with customers and visitors in powerful ways.

Best,
Brett

Thanks for your comment. It's astounding how common courtesy has eroded in society. I haven't been out of the states often enough to know if it's a meme that's shifted globally or not. Hopefully the pendulum will swing back at some point and those of us choosing connection and respect in our relationships will become the majority again.

Rhyscurrency, yes it's a rigged game. Here's a great article by Catherine Austin Fitts. It lays out how Sallie Mae's board realized that there is more money in keeping students on the hook for paying loans than in having a system where they can actually pay them off. http://solari.com/articles/student_loans

Bowmanave, I'm not sure which article you read with a Hitler reference, but it was not one I've ever written. I didn't mention China either. I have no idea what article you're referencing.

Thanks. Glad you liked it. I love helping companies, and sometimes it's baffling how what seems like common sense is woefully missing in how they interact with the public and their customers.

I only saw the word 'truth' used once, but as literary note I understand your point. Not that it matters, but I've never made a dime from blogging and my definition of marketing is to connect people to resources (people, books, movies, videos, websites, products, services, companies, etc.) that support what they're passionate about. (not sad). Thanks for your comment.

Sorry ot hear about the incident with your son Mike. That makes an even more prescient point than mine: If you're paying for phone service that doesn't work it can be dangerous in emergency situations.
