The Central District is starting to resemble the game Grand Theft Auto.

More than once, I've seen food stamp recipients using their cards to buy luxury items at the grocery store. We need to start restricting the items that can be purchased. Food stamps shouldn't be fun. They should be temporary, not a lifestyle.

And here I thought I was the only one.

Good2Gouge sent me a toll bill in the mail, with a $5 fine for being late. Problem was, I never got the first notice from them. I thought about fighting it, but then thought the better of it. The little guy always loses when challenging the man. Especially when the man is Washington state government trying to suck every last nickel from our pockets.

As a taxpayer and someone that has payed the obscene toll several times, I want a refund for all the lost productivity during the 520 happy hour.

There is probably more to this story than Ken is reporting. Perhaps the "Real Change" seller was harassing customers in front of the store?

True story: I delivered pizza when I was in high school. I got a call to the Salvation Army one night and a couple of guys came out and paid the entire order in pennies. Giant hand fulls.

I just took their word and didn't even bother counting it.

$2.2 million ain't what it used to be. The IRS gets 25% right off that bat. So that brings it to $1.65 million.

Then factor in the high cost of living and Philadelphia taxes and 1.65 mil is probably not enough to retire on, especially for the younger workers.

Not me. Anyone that breaks a window or destroys property needs a good tazing. The SPD was far too lenient in my opinion.
