This kid should inspire everyone and makes me damn proud of my brothers in blue. This shows that 99% of us cops out there do care and want to make a difference. Stay strong Gage. Hey Chive, how about a thin blue line t-shirt?

This guy would look good in a Seahawks uniform come September. To be honest, with his attitude, it wouldn't hurt to put the "C" on his shoulder either.

Congratulations Justin, sounds like you had a great time and took an awsome buck. Good luck with next years hunt. It seems to me that you got bit by the huntin bug, now you'll never be able to get rid of it. Great story!!!!!!

How do we know he was a "scum sucking maggot"? Lets count the ways:

1-known felon who is instantly recognized by sight by law enforcement

2-known to have a confirmed felony warrant

3-runs from law enforcement when he sees them

4-runs from law enforcement to a stolen vehicle

5-states to law enforcement he is going to get a gun as law enforcement attempts to take him into custody on said confirmed warrant

Doesn't sound to me as though this was an upstanding citizen nor was he "trying to get his life back together".

Not sure where you got the idea that Washington DUI laws are tough, but your wrong. If your charged with just the crime itself and you have money, you won't see any jail time and get off with a reduced charge of negligent driving 1st degree. If you kill someone, you'll spend the time between the collision and the trial out of jail, enjoying your life, going to work, spending time with your family, while the victims family grieves. When you actually do go to trial, several months later, and are found guilty, you'll only spend 3-5 years in prison, at most. Not sure how you feel about it, but that isn't nearly a long enough sentence for someone that had killed a family member of mine.

Things will never change as long as the laws don't change. DUI is still a gross misdemeanor in this state and until it is changed to a felony and people are actually given harsher sentences, the drivers will continue doing what they are doing.

I'll tell you what, I'll buy the second round, and after we all get a few drinks in us, we can all go &$@# on the dead bad guys grave. We'll save the cemetery a little on their water bill.

I didn't know this kid personally, but anyone who engages in two pusuits with the police in a week is not an upstanding citizen by any means. This kid was obviously not "trying to get his life back together". It's good to know that the kid will not be putting anyone else's life in danger by running from the police. I am extremely happy the deputy was not hurt and will be returning to his family this evening, way to shoot straight.
