The new media has blown the old myths of MSM objectivity away. And ready information, true or false, in skilled social media hands, can swing sentiment wildly in minutes. The famous quote mainly attributed to Lincoln: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time", is still true. It just happens much faster, and can be applied more frequently. I hope we survive as a republic.
