Corbutt is going to put the nails in the coffin of Cedar Rapids one way or another. Maybe if the city weren't buying hotels and spending insurance money on things it was not intended for it could afford flood protection without raising taxes again.

But if inmates were made to work they might sue the state if something happened to them. Just ask the DOC. They also can't produce their own food anymore because someone might get sick from the cheese or steak and sue. I say put them all to work doing some of the jobs that state can't seem to afford.

There are far less subsidies for transportation than there are farmers, oil companies and many other industries. I would much rather my taxes pay to help provide cleaner, more efficient transportation.
