If a Catholic School is a good school, with good teachers, with a good head, with good governance, with a good ethos, it will have all of those the day it becomes an integrated school. Catholic instruction continues for those who want it.

Except now, however misguided they were about the school beforehand, a lot more parents who would never have considered it before will be consider sending their kids there.

I just dont see how this is a bad thing for society,

I genuinely wonder how long it will be before there is a campaign to change the name of QUB.

Grow up.

Brits, killed people yes.

As did French, as did Germans, as did Spanish, as did Americans, as did Chinese, as did Japanese, as did Italians, as did Arabs, as did Persians, as did Jews, as did Scandinavians, as did Incas, as did Aztecs and indeed did Africans, Indians and Australians long before the British ever got there.

Even the Irish have killed plenty in their time.

Do you just sit around waiting for any opportunity to slag the British off on vaguely if at all related subjects?

I know a lot of people are suggesting this is some ploy to stop SF in the elections.

Does it really hurt them though?

Anyone voting for SF knows who they are voting for, and what they have done in the past. They either approve of their actions in the past and/or believe they have changed and moved on, helping the peace process in doing so.

I dont think I have ever met anyone in NI who believes that Gerry wasnt in the IRA so why would Gerry being arrested for a murder that happened 40 years ago bother anybody with either mindset?

So whilst it may well be motivated by people who dislike Gerry, the fact it doesnt really hurt SF or if they dont have evidence to charge him and put him in jail, Gerry himself, makes me doubt this is some high level conspiracy.

I think like many things we are better than most and worse than some.

Is joe average gay man going to have an easier life in Belfast than say London, Amsterdam, Sydney or New York? No. Are they going to have an easier life than they would in 80% of the world? Yes.

Regarding the Kremlin, I wonder if it will stay as a gay bar though, with the UU students moving in it may well be better commercially to be a straight club

Cost does have a bearing on companies coming here, but a 40k IT or consultants job in Belfast is not 80-100k in London. It is more in London, probably 20-25% more. It is not 150% that 100k would be. Not really sure what the market is like in Dublin, I think it is good, but we do manage to recruit people from Dublin occasionally and I doubt they would be leaving for a salary that is less than 1/2 what they are on.

Looking forward to their proposal on how they are going to get rid of the near 1.5 million people in Ireland who regard themselves as at least partially British.

Do people in these organisations actually think there is the slightest chance of them being able to bomb all these people out?

I know there are people on these boards who do support them, to one or extent or another, would genuinely like to hear a logical argument for why they will succeed.

Leaving aside all politics Ernest, if they had posted out election literature in both languages, who in NI is actually going to read it in Irish?

Who here reads Irish better than they do English?

What about him forcing down your throat his sponsors? Are they ok?

What a low tolerance level you have.
