Michael Tzvi, Israel is filled with non-Western Jews. Most of us would not go by the Rema. I'm not sure what your source for this would be. If I remember correctly, Rabbenu Gershon (correct me if I'm mistaken), said that Christianity was AZ when Jews did it, thus Jews could conduct commerce with them. The Ramba"m OTOH was very clear that they are ovdei AZ (See his uncensored Hil AZ 9:4). Let's talk on post, so as not to risk displaying any mahloqeth where it shouldn't be displayed.
Regarding a ger tzedeq you're right, and thus they can't live here, if for no other reason, then we cannot rule on individual cases.

If you're not, then mind YOUR own business. The only laws and sensibilities Jews must concern themselves with in the Land of Israel are Torah laws and sensibilities.
I am grateful for the opportunities and relative safety I experienced in the U. S., but it's not where Jews belong.
Likewise Arab enemies and Christians belong outside of Israel.

Gee. I thought that my post on the convention was a bit of a froth at the mouth. I, too, am critical of the conflicts of interest present and/or perceived in regard to the convention. I am object to any presence and participation of the Israeli government in any way, shape, or form, and I will not be attending.
However, Silver Dick is in his own league when it comes to frothing at the mouth.
I'm glad he's not coming. We have more than enough of his type here in Israel, polluting the Land.

Please see the Ba'al Turim's commentary on this, his description of the middoth of an "officer." The match the middoth of the Yassamnikim and the cops in the Shomron who harass and beat the Jews of Yehudah and Shomron, many such incidents not making the news.
Why then are certain "rabbis" telling residents of such towns to meet the police and soldiers with cake?

BTW, when IS Chrome coming out for Mac? Any inside info? I signed up for the email notification. I heard there some alpha/demo version out there, but I doubt I'll bother with that.
Do you think it'll really be all that? What it got going over Firefox?
