What was it Austin Power's father said in Goldmember?

"There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch."

For anyone who donates to the United Way of King County through work or what not, you can specifically request on your form to exclude the BSA on the donation form (assuming you give to the safety net). The BSA gets money from United Way, but by doing this, you can make sure they don't get any of yours. I've been doing this ever since they made their first ban on gays.

Wrong. Romney's job at Bain was to make a select group of rich people even richer. This is the point of all venture capital. Venture capital isn't in operations for the greater good of all, just the few who can afford to play the game. And the game is viscious....some companies come out ahead, hire more people, succeed. And there are others who fail, lose/outsource jobs. But if you are under the "misdirected" idea that he was in business to help anyone other than his rich pals, you're wrong.

You mean the Graham-Leach-Bliley Act....all 3 of whom where republicans in a republican controlled congress. It's not Clinton's fault, it's the whole damn systems fault.

I'm Pro-Arena, but $500M only gets you 18,000 seats? Based on the NBA attendance averages, a sellout crowd would only be 14th best:

13th on that list is OKC, with over 18K average. Really, we're going to be behind those clowns with a "State of the Art" facility? Get that arena size to at least 22,000.

Yes, but violent crime in NYC is at its lowest point since 1963....a major reduction over the 80's and 90's crack epidemics.

Maybe you haven't spent a lot of time in NYC, but its a fairly safe city due in large part to an increase in police presence.

I am HUGE proponent of correction department programs to train service dogs for disabled veterans. These programs serve amazing purpose. First and foremost, our disabled veterans receive a loving companion who can help them through severe agoraphobic situations and a wide range of other emotional and physical injuries. These dogs are trained to do amazing things. But also, prisoners who are engaged in these programs are less likely to re-offend.

The two year cost to train these service dogs is around 25,000 bucks. Worth every penny in my book. Over the past few years I've shifted my charitable donations to veteran related charities and veteran service dog training organizations are top on my list because of the extraordinary measures they achieve with our disabled vets.
