FIrst off, Under the constitution's second amendment, it gives us the right to bear arms, not a .22, not a "small caliber rifle", not a lime green gun, it says we can bear arms. If you try to restrict our rights to do that, it's a direct violation of the constitution, and last time I checked, the constitution was the master law of the land.

Secondly, for personal protection, a .22 is useless. If somebody breaks into your house, a .22 won't stop them. You need something bigger than that to protect your family.

Third, I agree with special permits, but only for automatic arms over the .45 caliber. Along with that permit should come a class teaching firearm safety.

Fourth, Ammo stamps? Limiting our ammunition is limiting our right to firearms because without that ammo, we can't fire a weapon and what good does that do?

I think that gun control advocates miss two important points about gun use. Firstly they think we use firearms for things other legal activity. It seems to me that most liberals believe that we just go out and do random illegal things with these weapons. We don't, we target shoot, competition shoot, hunt and own firearms for personal safety, not to own them as a status symbol and for illegal activity. Secondly, people have to remember that guns don't kill people, people kill people. Don't limit the guns for law abiding citizens, try to get them out of the hands of criminals. Limiting them won't work, no matter what you do, criminals will get past the limit or ban. You have to find an alternative.
