Okay, I will go ahead and put this in simple terms because you do not seem to understand. This site has its reader base, which is understandably conservative (being aligned with the thoughts of it's posts). This means you're all allowed to wallow in your shared views and not worry about reprimand. This is also why we see such exaggerated hate posted on this website (ie. the first 1-4 pages of these comments). It is because you are all alike and do not need to fear people coming into your site who do not share your views. This phenomenon has a psychological definition even: Groupthink ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink ). If ever there was a good example of it, this is it.

Moving on from that, we then had people like me who came from digg.com (a very popular news aggregator with a large viewership). This story became popular on digg.com a few days ago, and is why you see the new accounts and the less conservative comments most recently. Though, unlike me, many of those people made their point and left. I decided to stay and see how it went.

I find it interesting that upon posting my initial comments, they were voted up by the less radical digg.com viewers, and have now been buried as diggers left and I am left with radical conservatives such as yourself. This trend continues whether it is deserved or not.

Take for example FactsHurt's comment above. It was presented with clear sources and a clear argument of facts against Mr. Hoft's opinionated and incorrect statements. But what do you know, after being upvoted initially, it is now downvoted because you people do not like to be proven wrong. The facts can stare you in the face and you will ignore them.

Aside from that, none of you seem to realize (or, I suppose, feel like admitting) that when compared to Obama, Bush's time in office was a trainwreck. But you never saw Liberals complaining about the man himself. They might have disliked his stances and actions, but they would never attack him for missing a D-Day celebration (which has been shown to have happened).

You know what that shows me? It shows me that you all know your arguments against Obama are pure shit so you feel you need to resort to such ludicrous slander in order to feel that you have "won" at the end of the day. Well yes, you've won. As I said before. You've won in convincing everyone but yourselves (and that is a dangerous thing when you're such a minority) that you're a bunch of biased, racist, extremist, antiquated people. We all know this.

Go ahead and see the hundreds of people who share my views. Digg isnt a political site. Those votes on those comments are merely sane people agreeing with sane remarks against insanity (yourselves).

I will also take this time to laugh at the fact that my comments are now being downrated whereas before they were all uprated (as well as those like them). That was when digg.com had discovered this article and it wasn't surrounded entirely by incorrect conservatives like yourself. But now the rational public has gone and I am left here with the dregs of society, attempting to build themselves up by tearing down everything and everyone else.

So you go ahead and downrate me and try to talk your way deeper into a ridiculous argument. The general public has realized by now that the republican party as a whole has gone off the deep end with people like yourselves pushing it farther and farther towards its own demise. I will carry on with the knowledge that I will always be a better person than you and that I don't need to worry about what will come as long as I don't let people like you influence my life too much.

And to answer your question as to why I don't comment on other articles? It is because I don't intend to raise my blood pressure by reading any more of this ridiculous site than I already have. I only responded to this post because I became aware of it through digg.com, as is the case with every other commenter on here that isnt agreeing with the author. Its funny how easy it is to differentiate between logical and illogical, simply use Mr. Hoft as a guidepost!

To be honest, you really aren't helping the cause here. Bush DID take part in D-Day remembrance ceremonies at least once during his time in office. It doesn't change anything regarding the ridiculousness being spouted by the article author and subsequent hardcore conservative commenters, but at least get your facts right and present them in a readable manner.

With the publicity received by the actions of "tea partyers" throughout the nation, sensible humanity as a whole is keyed into your train of thought and can see through its flawed logic for what it really is: a small group of people who have decided to huddle together because they are scared of change. You fear that which you do not believe in. Instead of conducting political discussion in a respectable manner, you choose to latch on to sensationalist writing such as the above and use it to try and blot out the overwhelming disapproval that we, the normal, sensible citizens of the United States of America have for you and your ilk.
