so I am not onside with any particular party here. Instead, I am simply interested in raising the question of whether or not it is possible to control public opinion given the basic machinery of the internet. The most pressing pieces of information which the public is in need of are the methods by which this kind of control can be orchestrated. For example, our author here suggests that the coffee party is a PR campaign by an Obama "operative". Very cloak and dagger.
We are currently faced with an essentially technological question. If every piece of data on the internet can be immediately met with public scrutiny and rebuttal, how can public opinion be controled? If it can, then there is no reason to think that the tea party isn't also at risk.
