Should Obama have been there? Maybe. But why is it that Arlington is the only place a president can go to pay respect to those truly brave soldiers? He did go to a ceremony to pay his respects in Illinois.

Also, this has been a pretty typical move for presidents to do in the past. This is only becoming such a big deal because people like to find any excuse they can to attack the president. For example, Bush only went to this event one time in his eight years as president.

I'm going to try to post on this website without being flamed by angry people, which is usually what always happens to me.

Let me start by saying that I am indeed a liberal, which you could probably guess by what I'm going to say.

However, doesn't it bother anyone else that it is being suggested people are arming themselves to fight the government? It is this sort of paranoia that can lead to some seriously terrible events. It only takes one delusional person to act out.

Obama is NOT going to take your guns. The fact is that you have the right to bear arms under the second amendment. You can bet that the constitution is not going to be amended to do that. And if that is the case, then what is all of the fuss about?

Hunting is part of American culture, it has been for a long time. I get that, and I totally respect that. I would personally never do it, but more power to those hunting enthusiasts out there. Should you be able to protect yourselves? Of course, get a gun for that and keep it safely in your home.

But I don't understand how so many people can be so vehemently against gun control and regulation. Guns are dangerous. They kill people, lots of people. Do people really need big semi-automatic weapons to protect themselves? I find it hard to believe such a high powered weapon would be necessary. I'm not a hunter, but I also don't see how they would be needed there either.

I'm from a city where gun culture isn't really prevalent at all, so I obviously don't know where many of you are probably coming from. I'd like to hear some of your honest opinions on why you all seem to be so worried about this?

Please don't bother responding if you're just going to blast me with the typical communist or socialist (which many people on this website don't seem to understand) rhetoric that seems to happen way too often.

This kind of attitude is disgusting. I'm not saying this as a partisan Democrat either. It would be just as horrible if a Democrat had said it about Bush.

You would seriously wish a person, by all reasonable appearances a good man with a family, would get shot because you disagree with his policies?

You, and people like you, are exactly what is wrong with this country. Just because you have ability and freedom to speak doesn't mean you should.

Also, it's not like he didn't do anything at all to commemorate Memorial Day.

On May 31, Barack Obama was at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Illinois. There are more ways for a president to honor our troops than going to the Arlington cemetery.

Please tell me this outrage is all some sort of big joke at the expense of us rational people?

You all do realize George W. Bush only went ONE time in eight years? If you are all competent enough to do simple math, that is equal to the number of times that Obama has gone in just two years.

Bill Clinton went all eight years. Does that mean that he is the only one of these presidents that loves his country? According to your ridiculous logic, he must be.

I feel sad for you people that actually think Obama doesn't love his country as much as all of you claim to, especially if you think that this is the proof. You don't run for the office unless you love your country. Just ask Bush, it's not an easy job.

If you want to criticize Obama, that's your right, and by all means do it. But please, please stop with the unfounded outrage and meaningless arguments.
