I thought FOR SURE the "trumpet was gonna sound!" right after the final scene of LOST... the end = THE END! and I'm only half-joking! haha
what really gets me is the very idea that someone WANTS to watch people being thrown into Hell, while IN Heaven!!! I mean that's certainly not my idea of an everlasting "Good Time"... and it's almost borderline sinful in itself, for as good our friends the Black Eyed Peas (and well... Jesus himself, ha) would say - "where is the LOVE!?!"
hahahaha, brilliant about the VHS!!!
i just love this blog... it always moves me to tears or laughter... or both... I am definitely encouraged :)
as a single, working as the admin for a mega church's singles ministry (i should get like +50 points for that!) I coined the phrase (and made shirts, holla if you want one) - "Jesus was Single." pretty proud of that one, still wear the shirt... I also like to throw out a well timed "God is my husband" (Is. 54:5)... and I usually end both phrases with - "so back off!!!" :)
Thanks Charlie St. Cloud :)
I'm definitely (and sort'a proudly) guilty of -- 1, 4, 5 (although I like to say it's because "we're on holy ground" which is only half-true, the other half is that I am a clutz and don't want to trip on stage, even in my ballet shoes), 12, 13, 15 (and the chunky "non-curl curl"), 19 (and Christy, who came BEFORE Brooke, they are the main staples, although Kari is slowly getting there), 20, 21 (I do "no-bake/peanut-butter-chocolate-oatmeal cookies, and ALWAYS attempt to make BFFs with the lead-guitarist and sound guy [which is tricky cause while lead guitarists are usually up for all sorts of new friends, and like to jam until dawn whether anyone is there to sing-a-long or not, which I usually am, sound guys are usually more reclusive and can be REALLY tricky to make friends with, haha], cause no matter how simple or un-plugged the set is, any "success" of a worship "moment" is ALL about the reverb on vocals and ability of the lead guitar to brilliantly duet with the girl voice... FYI - "Hosanna" is NOTHING without a freaking amazing lead guitar part!) and 22 and 23...
but don't forget about how everyone has to talk so much louder to us or how we have to turn LOST and our radios up to extreme levels because our hearing has been SO damaged by ear-buds or way too loud monitors!
AND the vast difference between our normal speaking voice versus our stage "praying/scripture reading" voice, that's a biggie :)
