It is known that being happy or achieving happiness in our days is a very hard thing considering our rush and struggle to do so many things. The positive psychology is the first discipline that contains a scientific study of happiness.
First of all I agree with the idea that thinking always of bad events that happened in past makes us unhappy. For example if we had a bad argue with our partner and we keep thinking of this every day, it will make us feel very bad or unhappy.
Secondly, there are some factors that we only think they are making us happy. These factors like having a good job, having a family, having a lot of money aren`t realy making us happy because a good job has many requirements which make us be stressed and of course not being happy. And having a lot of money isn`t a path to happiness because we all know that we can`t buy happiness.
There are many things that if they are gained, they make us happy: sense of wisdom, sense of justice, compassion for others people. It is very important for us to live our lives in a way which is meaningful fact which implies doing good things for other people. Another path to happiness is practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness is like a sport of mind which helps us maintaining happiness. This “sport of mind” implies attending to our current experiences, to live and think in present. For example when we brush our teeth we can pay attention of this action and think of the benefits it brings to us. Another good example is walking. When we do this we should think of the rhythm of our steps and how good this action makes us feel.
To conclude, happiness is a very hard thing to achieve, but not impossible. If we follow the steps mentioned earlier, we can be happy even when we do trivial things like walking, brushing our teeth, drinking our coffee and so on.
