Ditto Colin Chapman, and I can't disagree with Kelly Johnson. His crew at Lockheed back in the late 50s through the late 60s did wild things that in some ways are unthinkable nowadays.

But I'm forced to disagree with Yeager. I mean, the guy's an amazing pilot, there's no denying that, but there were plenty of other rocket jocks at Dryden that were on par with him; he gets all the press because he happened to be the first pilot to fly faster than Mach 1.

Scott Crossfield, Bill Dana, Milt Thompson, Joe Walker, Niel Armstrong, etc. were all contemporaries of Yeager who arguably accomplished much more.

My wagon dream is a '65 Ford Country Squire with the 300 I6, 4 on the floor, and bench seats.

My buddy has an '88 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser (one of the best names for a car ever, btw), and it's positively frightening how much cargo you can haul in that thing. I think our record is 16 full sheets of 3/4" plywood, 156 8' 2x4s, and 4 12' 2x12s, all at the same time.

And then there are the time that we got pulled over at 2am in a snow storm with 9 people in the car (3 in the rear-facing jumpseats).

Too bad the Minneapolis road salt eats iron.
