But to compare the two groups and their plights is just not right. Too many differences, and a vast difference in the number of people involved, not to mention the larger wealth of horrible ways that blacks were tormented, many with government involvement. I do not see the same thing here at all.

We will simply have to agree to disagree.

We will have to agree to disagree on this point, since I believe that the first two humans on this earth entered into the marriage covenant before God.

The true love I feel for my children is not conditional. Never will be. If my daughter decides she wants to live the homosexual lifestyle, I will not shun her or love her any less. Nor will I cower in fear of expressing to her that I think she would be happier in a heterosexual relationship getting married (in a very loving way, of course). I would treat any other lifestyle that I did not agree with the same way including living together when not married. If I did any less, I would not truly be loving my daughter. And it would not be something we talked about often either, it is not the basis for the relationship between a parent and a child.
So quit accusing parents who do not approve of homosexuality of not loving their gay children. It would be the exception.

is a lot different than,
"Congress shall make no law respecting God, or a Creator"
I believe in immutable laws set forth by our Creator that directly govern our success and happiness.
Very different, and not really found in Leviticus.

Who is the ultimate authority on what is right and wrong? Some believe that our Creator established immutable laws that govern everything from gravity and particle physics to morals, ethics, and yes, marriage.
Others believe that we are on our own in regards to what is right and what is wrong. This philosophy relies on the intellectual man alone to decide, by majority, what laws should govern our society.
I believe in a combination of the two. I believe that we as responsible human beings should do our best to enact laws which protect our society and grant the freedom and rights that God created us with. I also believe that we should not try to change the immutable laws of God to suit the popular agenda of the time.
In answer to your question, many a parent has dealt with what they consider a wayward child. Teen pregnancy, drugs, questionable friends. At one time, homosexuality could have comfortably fit in that list for most people. And for many people it still does. No good parent would love their child any less. We all want what will truly make our children happy, what will give them the most out of life. For many of us parents, growing up, falling in love and having children is an essential part of what we know will bring our children true joy. We do not believe that the same joy and satisfaction can come from a homosexual lifestyle. And certainly, no natural children will ever come from such a union.

Perhaps you did not realize that.
