I was serving in Stuttgart when this happened - most of the folks I talked to back home had no idea, didn't know it happened, and had no details.
In country - it changed the way we lived. No uniforms off base (at all - and I lived 2 blocks away).
Thankfully, Germany is an ally, and this guy will fry.

Well the "intel" you're getting - from whatever leftist blogs you are reading - are inaccurate, at best. I think you've been watching too much al jazeera tv. You know -they may not be completely unbiased..... again - the ROE's you are hearing about may not be the "real" ones that we use in the AOR (sorry, that's Area of Responsibility - I forgot, you haven't served)

Very cool - I got my 3 from a family that has a shop on ISAF HQ. Great rugs - and great people. First time I was in the shop I had tea and (fresh, room-dried) grapes, nuts and other assorted snacks. They didn't even talk about me buying anything for maybe 2 or 3 times coming to the shop.

The ones in the shop were so amazing I just bought them. 3 total. Gorgeous - and at the center of my, and my parents, living rooms. :)

We have the best fighting force in the world - working hand in hand with other forces to rid the world of an enemy of all people who wish to be free. Just ask them - like I did when I was in Afghanistan. The man I bought carpets from hugged me and thanked me as I told him goodbye on my last day. He also asked that I tell my family that his family appreciates their sacrifice.
