I cannot say which of my comments makes YOU uncomfortable. That is for you to answer. Maybe you are beginning to realizing that whole Orthodox religious business is a scam and a fake. I cannot tell.

As for choices , Orthodox have few and many less than the general population . They have no choice in the eduction they are given and its lack ( or absence) of secular subjects . This is done by rabbis so people cannot live in the out side world , they cannot make a living there. They are close to illiterate with no skills .They must remain is self segregated communities and slavishly devoted to the rabbis. They , in reality have no choice.

They have no choice in the religion they adopt . They are born into it.

By the way the rabbis who are in charge , we had choice in picking them? They were elected as community leaders? Or were they selected by divine right? Who picked them? My guess , other rabbis , who trusted them to keep this scam going.

I am not a mind reader. The intentions of leaders becomes apparent when you see the end results. When one sees thousands of Jews living near or at poverty unable to make their way in this century or society in general - the question is what or who put them there or is keeping them there?

My original post stand.

Ask your self if my comment makes you uncomfortable and why ?

Organized religion is not about god , but power and control . These Ultra orthodox people invent stricter and stricter rules to hold sway over their followers. It is as simple as that . Intolerance of anything that does not coincide with these goals are "not kosher" The older more religious person who rejected the offering of the cheese cake saw this as an attack on his authority and reacted as such. No manners , no kindness . Just a rude , unnecessary over reaction. It would not mattered how kosher the cake was or not. He is the boss and will not allow challenges or erosion of his authority.

It is from these medieval rules that their personal power and authority stems. They see what the world is like and are absolutely terrified of it. They would starve if they they had to make they way in it. What your seeing here in their over reaction is a fight against loss of power and control . Unfortunelty these rabbis keep poor Jews steeped in ignorance , poverty, subservience and the thirteenth century as well. And that is why it is so damaging.

If you you doubts about this, look at volume and complexity of the mindless rules and procedure the ultra Orthodox follow.Look too at the magnitude of the over reaction in the response . This is a kosher cheese cake . A Kosher Cake. Mindless is the key word bother , because they follow them with thinking ( like robots) and the rules have no value what so ever at all in the current world.

The first goal of any rabbi is preserve and grow his power over others. Not their welfare and prosperity but his. When you look at all of this objectivily it all becomes very clear.

Why wear a distinguishing hat at all? Doesn't god know what is in your heart? What is he trying to say about himself by wearing that hat. He wants to people to know , by making this fashion statement that he is a man of "significance", of "substance" and importance. It reeks of pretense, insecurity and "trying too hard". In net It has the opposite effect.

I see it as the mark of the huckster and scam artist. Selling his religiosity to ignorant and the guilable. That are his target audience . If he was genuine and sincere he would not need to wear that stupid cowboy hat.

Schmulke - all that anger and emotion ? Why ? many Jews are gay, orthodox and ultra orthodox as well. It is their natural state and of course they must remain closeted. Their is no shame in Homosexuality.

Take along look in the mirror. A really close look.

Also look up the definition of "paranoid delusion".

Now that original language as been modified to remove the discrimination from the bill, I wonder if this rabbi will be there to celebrate its signing as did the original ?
I wonder which side of this he is on? Fortunately he does not speak for me and millions of others Jews who know full well what the it means to be discriminated against and abhor discrimination in all its forms. Society will come to realize that these "orthodox" rabbis speak and represent only themselves and their own personal interests. A black Wyatt Earp cowboy hat is simply that -a black Wyatt Earp cowboy hat and absolutely nothing more. And in this case it may mean a lot less .

Be that as it may lets see if the "rabbi" shows up for the signing of the revised legislation. My guess is without the ability to discriminate he will not find anything to celebrate and will not show up. Let us see.

Schmulke - How would you know they were in fact gay? So you could discriminate against them? How would you know someone is Jewish just by sight ? How do you do this ? And be sure you are correct in your discrimination?
This is an important question . I would not want to make a mistake here. Maybe I would consult an orthodox rabbi he could advise me . Maybe the one who celebrated the passing of this law which enabled discrimination of all kinds even against Jews - if it were part of my religious beliefs.

Pls notice at the signing ceremony as a Gov Peance is surrounded by known Homophobic and racist leaders, who is standing on his left ? An orthodox rabbi . Joining the crowd to sign a bill to shield discrimination beneath religious beliefs. This orthodox "rabbi" has joined this crowd to celebrate the signing of this bill .

I think we ought to just let that sit a while and try to take it in. Jews a target of groundless discrimination and prejudice for almost forever are supporting and celebrating a law that enables that very prejudice and shields it under a cloak of religiosity. An ORTHODOX rabbi no less.

Let's try it in simple terms. Some " crazy" out in bubba land starts to shoot Jews and says my church( Westboro Baptist for example) taught me that Jews killed Christ. He will be able to defend his action as consistent with his religious belief. This kind of thing happened in Kansas City a few years ago when a "crazy" shot some people at a Jewish Retirement how for the very same reason.

An ORTHODOX rabbi.

"Safety issues are a thin facade for Jewish antisemitism." Can you explain what this means? Also take a shot at "paranoid delusions" , just for fun.

I think your strength is limited to spotting "lesbians with family bought homes in fancy new jersey suburbs ". Fox News wants you to stick to that.

The issue of the Sasoon Family and disrespect aside. His point is that mindless following of obvious dangerous (as dictated by medieval religion) practices such as matzitza b'peh need to be recognized and addressed. Man , through science and research has made significant progress in both health and safety issues over the last three hundred year .

Further for those of you of a more obsessive religious bent , god does not want you kill yourself . Using the safety and nanotechnology advances of this century is a mitzvah . He does not want you to follow Talmudic medicine for example for much the same reason. Clinging mindlessly to the 13 th century religious dogma is not devotion but stupidity and ignorance.
