Some spells, like Electrician's ult, are "Superior Magic." I don't know if there's a list of these anywhere, but the spell descriptions say if they are. Blood Hunter's ult is an nonpurgeable debuff (which all have blue borders). There are lots of weird exceptions, you just have to know them =)

Haha, these comments pretty much sum up the whole DotA vs. HoN debate. HoN has strayed quite a bit away from DotA now, but I still think it's a great game on it's own and will become a top competitive game.

Balphagor is a Dev Mode hero now, but basically what the ulti does is AoE damage, plus additional effects depending on how many charges it has. You gain charges based on mana spent by nearby enemies. With 40+ charges, the ulti deals more damage and slows. With 80+ charges, it spawns minions on each enemy hero that explode and deal damage when killed.

Apparently, you didn't realize that this article was written before the Scout remake and before his Eyes could silence.

The item build nowadays includes, as you suggest, pure damage items: Steamboots, Soulscream Ring(s), Savage Mace, Shieldbreaker. Yes, Frostburn is viable instead of Shieldbreaker, and even Brutalizer has some merit. Runed Axe isn't as necessary as you think. Shrunken Head can be very good, and a Symbol of Rage as a final luxury item is quite the opposite of retarded.
