As far as I'm concerned, both posters are offensive. The UK poster may have erased the black actors completely, thereby shouting to the masses the obvious racism, but the U.S. poster does little better by putting them in the back, nearly obscured by size and dimension. Looks like the back of the bus to me. And you'll see that everywhere in advertising. Unless the target audeince is black, the 1 black out of 5 whites is always shown in a diminished capacity. And most face time in commercials is given to the pretty blondes. However you put it, we have a loooong way to go.

It just depressing.... so depressing.... that commercial is as disturbing as Alicia Silverstone's role in Beauty Shop. Way to successfully demean black women in the small span of 30 seconds KGB. I hope someone yaks on you.

Things I'm willing to admit that I do when I'm alone:

I have complete conversations with my cat. I tell her what's on my mind and she sits patiently looking at me. In my mind she's listening and imparting her wisdom through a series of complicated winks.

Sometimes I put as many things as possible in my hair and walk around looking like a 6 year old is my stylist.

I play Bohemian Rhapsody on my French horn as loud as possible just to see how long it takes before my neighbor starts making noises from her house to let me know it bothers her. Also, I dance naked in my living room and do yoga in my underwear.

When I'm in a public place and other people think their children are being cute, but in fact, they're just being freaking annoying, while the parents aren't looking I teach the kids how to say "Vasectomy" and tell their daddies to get one.

Don't tell anyone!

I'll answer question 2: Can you love someone without liking them?

I'm going to say YES to that. Otherwise I'd have no relationship with my family!

I hear crap like this on the radio here in the South all the time. It's sick. And don't think it's just from some of the white stations - some of the black and hispanic stations do the same thing. The hispanic ones have a particular talent at double entendre - a mean and perverted one at that. When Prop 8 was came around Florida it took everything in me not to tear out my own car radio and grind it to a pulp. It was open season on anyone not straight. Disguising hate with humor still makes it hate. It's as if all responsibility has gone from the airwaves. The sicker the better cause that just means better ratings.

I am so sick of people being categorized by society. There should be a law against being an asshole. And a tougher law against being an asshole with a radio or television show. I wish the FCC would lobby to bring back the Fairness Doctrine. Adam Lambert is nothing but the latest uber- talent who freaks out right wing nutters. Apparently you can't be great at something and not be straight and conforming to their perception of how people should be. Right Miss California? Closets are for clothing, not identities, even though some of my shoes have more personality than Bill O'Reilly.

I think that Bruno should have gotten some cultural advice before becoming a judge on an American show. Traditional English and American English are quite different. Then there's the bilingual aspect. Being bilingual myself, I have been in positions where the words I'm using to convey a message simply bomb and, thankfully not often, have offended. It's what happens when you haven't mastered the AM/FM language switch in your head. I mastered it, but it took work and study.

Having said that, although I don't watch DWTS, I have seen a couple of Bruno's interviews, and what I noticed about him and a lot of gay men, including my own friends, is that they seem to think it's okay to talk to a woman a certain way because they assume we don't perceive them as "sexual predators". What they fail to understand is that some things are still offensive no matter who is doing the talking. I wouldn't speak that way to another woman, and I wouldn't want it done to me.

Lil Kim isn't on this show to be judged on her personal career or how she has chosen to portray herself. That's her business. She's there to be judged on her dance skills, and kudos to her for putting herself out there. She's showing a softer side to herself we rarely get to see, and she seems to be enjoying it. Bruno is obviously there for shock value, because honestly, half of the time no one knows what he's saying, but he should really choose his words a little better. Maybe it was a language issue, I may give him the benefit of the doubt. But as far as race is concerned, WOC are scrutinized much more and on every platform. As an Hispanic woman I get my share of crap and it sucks. WOC are the lowest on the equality ladder. And it doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. All we can do is take the high road and do what we've always done - work harder than everyone else to prove we're equal. Hopefully one day we'll all just be people.

Wanda's comment makes my complete disgust with Rush and my convictions battle it out in my head. Every time I see Rush Limbaugh or hear his verbal bile I see in my mind the giant red demonic pig in the attic window of the Amityville Horror house. Why anyone in their right mind would listen to this uneducated blow hole is beyond me (you, too Glenn Beck!), but I would rather call him out on his bigotry and many other unattractive intellectually challenged characteristics than his weight or drug issue.

It's so refreshing to have a First Lady, and President for that matter, who seem so real and accessible. Michelle Obama demonstrates that you can be educated, successful, and graceful, with a total lack of snootiness, and still own that national stage.
