Did you hear that the Catholic Church is now forbidding nuns at U.S. hospitals from using Reiki stress reduction and relaxation techniques because it is non-Christian? It's true.

HI Rod, I guess it just means that the ad guys were speaking to your frame of mind and not mine. Now in my view, a real Buddhist ad would be one that busted all the frames to point directly at Zero, in the way John Tarrant uses the image of "Escape Arts." Wasn't it Houdini who was called the Greatest Escape Artist? I'm trying to remember a good TV ad that was real escape artistry, and I can't remember one, but I think one might come to me when I'm not thinking about it.

I don't get it. What is at all interesting about this ad? It is completely typical of ads and doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before and doesn't give any other message than the silly message -- that can be interpreted as anti-Buddhist-- that all things change EXCEPT for the taste of a Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich. Come on. I think this is an example of wishing it said something that it doesn't.

"if you could talk to Rev. Viv Morse, the church’s leader, what might you tell him to try to get him to reconsider his position?"

If he doesn't have a question then there is little to say to get him to reconsider, so I would only ask questions to see if any of them got him interested.
Some such questions might be,
"What makes you sure about that?"
"Are you interested in any other perspective?"
"What do you think about The Gospel of Thomas?"
"How do you define worship?"
"Do you think God hates bodies and the people who use Tai Chi to be one with body?"
"Does he know that 'Chi' is the same as 'Spirit' and that 'Tai Chi' the same as 'Holy Spirit'"?

That's just a few off the top of my tai chi.
