Well I know in other NSO's we state if you want to play for the National team the onus is on you the player to make sure they have their own VISA. It is not up to the Association of Federation to pay for the individuals application. But I feel The Ticket and Accommodation is what the NSO is responsible for. So hopefully when we have fully recover from LIFE SPORT the Ministry of Sport begin to function as they should. There are still some rusty bolts there though so we may still have to face this for some time to come. National teams have paid towards their own tickets to go to qualifiers for CAC. The list goes on.......
Congratulations ...... Happy to see that we are finally sending a complete management team also with a psychotherapist included. National teams in other sports have traveled recently with athletes alone, no manager, no coach, for a team sport and not even a reserve for injury.
Pity all NSO's / NGB's face this situation ...... National athletes either paying for their own accommodations or part of their plane ticket to represent the country. and the pittance given by the Government to NSO's / NGB's they are dictating to spend in development through the eyes of these blinded people. Poorer countries are sending their athletes to the best places to train but as soon as a TRINBAGONIAN go outside some fools say they only looking for a plane ride..... This is why we do not progress in sport ..... PROMISES never fulfilled !!!!!!
Another twist by Fazeer He uses his interviews to bash officials without doing proper research or getting the side of the NSO's and now writing when an official is attacked. All this is a repercussion of the image you set pitting athletes and their supporters against officials. When the true fact is no financial support from the Ministry stretches officials to make hash decisions which would make them the brunt of attacks, while the true culpret is the Ministry who do not keep promises.
How much Swimming got ????? Please list all and then you would see discrepancies.... And If you want check Caribbean and international medals won for the year 2013 for each. Then you would see how badly some sports are treated.......
Through the MSYA eyes if you do not win internationally against world class players you have not achieved. All the mentioned above though with comparative short careers have achieved against the best in the world. If the standard of table tennis is relatively low in the Region and Table Tennis is his career obviously he would be top locally. But what is the claim to fame on the world stage, while there are juniors in swimming beating the world. The authorities that be do not spend money until you achieve instead of spending money to help you achieve.
Don't forget Walcott. Because of our system many talented athletes of world standard shy away from sport because they see no future there. Hitting the books is everything. The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs have failed the youths of our Nation who has talent, through NEPOTISM of the sibling of a cyclist, a footballer, a swim coach or Tobagonian connection. If you don't fall in this category it will be catch A$$ for you. Some rather study banditry as it pays better.

So untrue it is unbelievable. NSO submit subventions requests with so much details for up coming events for the year. Which the Ministry chop up except for swimming. The THA said they had to support Tobago players on National teams. This shows the Ministry not doing their work. The young Table Tennis team nearly did not go but the THA came to the rescue. NSO's have submitted their requests many months in advance and still did not receive support making parents scramble to allow their child to go.
Does this not show that our Table Tennis players need exposure competing outside to reach the next level. T&T other finalist was a junior who did minimal traveling. Come on Authorities give the support to the youths of table tennis, there is much talent suffering because of lack of.
