Exxon's net income in the 4th quarter of 2009 was $6.05 BILLION . Their 3rd quarter profit for 2010 was $7.35 BILLION. It's not like they can't afford it.

Truth (and I use the term loosely) Hurts,

It's obviouse that you are the one lacking intellect.

Since your silly disparagement of me a day ago, Editor Tom Mitchell has admitted that the closing line of his editorial was completely inappropriate (which was my point in the first place):

Editor's Note:

While you don't see my name at the bottom of our editorials, I routinely write them, and I wrote the one that ran Saturday - the one about Joe McGinnis and the Palins' new fence.

In an effort to find a catchy ending, I was a bit too creative with the last paragraph. If I had it to do over again, I would have left off the last sentence of the editorial. It doesn't add to my point, which was that there is nothing particularly newsworthy about someone moving in next door nor about a new fence going up to protect the privacy of neighbors.

I certainly did not mean to suggest that McGinnis would or should be the victim of violence. For that matter, I didn't mean to suggest the Palins would do such a thing."

You lose., TH. Go find something else to be childish about.

An Epic Fail, "Truth Hurts."

Threat:
1. an expression of intent to injure or punish another.
2. an indication of imminent danger.
3. a person or object that is regarded as a danger; a menace.

Veiled threat: implied threat, subtle intimidation.

Tom Mitchell's final editorial paragraph, written as a warning to Joe McGinniss, falls well within the parameters of the definition #2 of "threat" listed above, and matches the definition of "veiled threat" perfectly.

I understand that Mitchell thought he was being funny. Until he polishes up his sense of humor a little, he should probably stick to telling knock-knock jokes.

Since your rebuttals lack any substance or logic, and a childish attempt to insult me is all you can muster, it's obvious that you are not very bright -- and that you certainly aren't smarter than a fifth-grader.

A direct quote from the Frontiersman Op/Ed piece by Mr. Mitchell:

"Finally, those who are fond of Joe McGinnis might remind him (if he doesn’t already know) that Alaska has a law that allows the use of deadly force in protection of life and property. "

It's no surprise that Mr. McGinnis perceived that as a veiled threat. Most people (even those with a fifth-grade education) would.

Since your rather ignorant response bypassed any intelligent discussion of the matter, and instead went directly to personal insult, I'd say you are a pretty fair example of one lacking reading and comprehension skills of 5th-grader.

So Tom Mitchell, managing editor of the Frontiersman, said "it was intended to be more humorous than anything."?

Yeah.

Threatening people with deadly force is a regular laugh riot, Tom.
