I could not agree with you more. I belong to Public Citizen at http://www.citizen.org ,Common Cause at http://www.commoncause.org and the John Birch Society at http://www.jbs.org . All 3 institutions have been trying to prevent this from happening for as long as they have existed. So has Alliance for Democracy.
I plan to retire in Ukraine where I can get 8 hgrivnya for $1 . There is no violence there and no one wants to bomb them .

Egypt's need for energy has grown,so I propose: Gov.Deval Patrick should contact the Energy Dept. and propose to DOE that Evergreen Solar ,Spire Corp. & XSunX be given a grant to manufacture solar panels that can be installed on Cairo rooftops. Instead of the Defense Dept. giving money to Egypt to buy more tanks and helicopters that might conceivably be used against Israelis, have the US State Dept. contract companies to teach Egyptians how to install these panels to increase employment. A Chinese MIT graduate student has started One Earth Designs; Scot Frank President & CEO that does something similar in China & Mongolia. It could be incorporated into the

“The untold story behind Egypt's revolution is that oil production in Egypt has drastically declined in the past decade. As of 2010 Egypt began consuming all the oil that it extracts. Egypt no longer exports oil. So for the past 15 years or so, Egypt's government has been raising less and less income with which to offer food and fuel subsidies to the teeming masses in the country's expansive slums. Today, Egypt is reportedly the world's largest wheat importer. In the past year or so, as net oil exports shifted down to zero, the food-problem became even worse for Egypt. So the Egyptian government has fewer funds from oil with which to pay higher prices for food imports and subsidies.

I think the stock is Neptune Minerals.
"When will Neptune's resources be defined?
Neptune submitted its first mining licence application (MLA) in July 2008 for an area withing the company's Kermadec licence PL39-195. Discussions with the New Zealand regulator Crown Minerals and other stakeholders are ongoing and will ensure a satisfactory conclusion to the application process.
Once the mining licence has been granted, activities can commence to define the SMS resource and conduct the baseline environmental impact assessment.
When will mining commence?

Neptune is working to engage operational partners to develop the Kermadec asset and other New Zealand SMS deposits. Neptune's goal is to achieve trial mining by 2011.
Does Neptune have the financial backing to see the company through the initial exploration phase? In June 2007, Newmont Mining Corporation invested £2.5 million in Neptune with plans to place staff and provide technical expertise to assist Neptune’s exploration activities.
